He wanted that wand because it's very powerful and that's probably why Harry also destroyed it because whoever owns it, especially if the owner is evil, will only use that wand for personal gain.

Oh yeah, I forgot that they mentioned that in the movie.. I forget that was the same wand.. Thanks for that info..

Then Voldemort took it from Dumbledore in DH. It's a good thing then that Harry destroyed it because if it falls into the wrong hands again, that wand can be dangerous.

Yes Harry broke the Elder wand in DH2 but not in the book. In the book, Harry put it back in Dumbledore's tomb.
