That kind of relationship, where Credence is abused and he has no power over it can be quite controversial. Thus the Obscurus. I really hope we get more insight into this for part 2.

Yes they didn't and Credence didn't manifest being an Obscurus until he found out that Graves was only using him. So in a way, he was triggered too.

I think he knows and it manifests when he's constantly told to suppress his powers and abused for it. The time he cracked was because he found out that Graves was just using him.

So yeah I think it's just always there but it may be triggered if he's abused and told to suppress his powers. I want to know how he survived though since Newt said most of the children who has the Obscurus dies by age 10.
