First liked them as a couple because of this:



I didn't really actively ship them though until OotP where she calms him down several times whereas no one else could. Then later after I read some essays and realized she had something for him...man what a revelation.

Ironically HBP had Harmony moments that were more straightforward than in OotP.

Love those gifs of HHr. I think my personal fave is GoF while Hermione was walking down the stairs and Harry was looking at her.

I liked how he took notice of her without noticing her in the book, it shows he doesn't think she's pretty just because it's Hermione. Walks right past her, notices how pretty she is, doesn't pay enough attention to realize it's her.

His mind's like "Ok we got Cedric, Cho, some pretty lil' thang next to Krum, Krum - Fleur/Davies....wait a minute"

See, they have a unique dynamic as a couple of Hermione being the planner and Harry acting out upon that plan and executing it so well beyond belief. One of the biggest points on me liking them as a couple.

We truly see of this in CoS. Hermione is the one to figure it out in a flash. She reads the book and draws a conclusion so quickly that she has no time to memorize or take notes, starts to write the word 'Pipes' and doesn't even bother to finish the context behind it, instead figuring that she'd just rip it out and run straight to Harry.

Of course, being a sweet girl, starts warning everyone that she can find, only they're all down at the Quidditch pitch. She runs across Penelope, warns her, then BAM petrified. So much for explaining to Harry what the blazes that was all about.

Next thing she knows she's waking up in a hospital bed and being fed nasty potion. Obviously demands an explanation. This is what she gets (remember, she got petrified when the school was in a state of near panic).

-Harry found the Chamber and got in.
(I imagine that Hermione hadn't worked this out quite yet)

-Harry found the basilisk. Kills it single-handedly.
(Probably why she ran straight for him screaming after her recovery.)



12 years old, and they're already a strong team. Unbelievable.
