Help the Animal Victims of Katrina by Donating to the Humane Society
Don't forget these other helpless victims of Hurricane Katrina. If you can, please donate to the Humane Society of the United States and help get them out, get them to safety, and give them the food, shelter, and medical care that they need until they can be reunited with their families, or find new, loving homes.

Of course,this is so important. A huge component of the agony people felt during this crisis was the concern that their pets were safe. Stories of people being evacuated on buses that were unable to take pets to facilities where they were not able to have their pets with them,were wrenching. Hopefully,planning will be better in the future.
