I think she doesn't really want him to go. You can see she is trying smile but it seems forced to me. Buffy didn't have to say anything and could have just let Spike walk out.

I really don't think she wanted him to go when everybody showed up in Afterlife either.
Spike was already obsessed with Buffy in Season 2. FF does that some times.  __________________

You know it's funny that after the love spell episode they never brought it up again...no one did...I mean that's a pretty unforgettable day and yet no one every made a past reference to it. You'd think Spike would especially. So it makes me think that Willow did a forgetting spell or something.

I've always wondered that too actually.
I think it's telling that Buffy jumped right into a relationship with Riley after the spell. Spuffy seemed to avoid each other the rest of the season too. Even if Willow did make them forget they could have subconsciously did those things.    __________________

I honestly never paid attention but she could have.
I was too busy like Spike listening to her speech. I always knew making people think Spike was gonna get the chip out was a plot twist. It's ridic how some fans still claim that Spike didn't want the soul.  We have even Spike telling Buffy that he wanted to give her what she deserved and that was his soul back.  __________________
