I think it's telling that Buffy jumped right into a relationship with Riley and Spuffy pretty much avoided each other the rest of the season.

I never thought of it like that. But wow...it makes a lot of sense now
 And the next season is Spike figuring out he's in love with Buffy so it's very fitting.Gif  __________________

It is and it's like the only way to make it better for me that we barely got any Spuffy interaction the rest of Season 4. I didn't even have to have romance. Just scenes with the usual banter would have been nice.
I love the way they look at each other.   __________________

I know - they didn't even have their banter until like Primevil where we got a scene again. It seemed like so long esp for a Riley-filled season

I think there was definite strong feelings but when he got his soul back, it kind of solidified those feelings and turned it into love.

It does.
I go back and forth. I feel like Buffy for sure had very strong feelings in Season 6 for him. Maybe it was love. I remember reading stuff over the years especially based on DT and that quote being Buffy admitting to loving him. Since she repeats what he said and doesn't tell Tara flat out no that she doesn't love him. There is no doubt by the moment she was in love with him.  __________________

DT, I think was a denial. She didn't want to feel those things for Spike and she got the closest she ever had gotten to admitting being in love with Spike.

Buffy admitted to having feelings for him in SR but she said it wasn't love because she didn't trust him enough for it to be love. We saw her trust him over and over again.
I don't know. It's confusing. In the end she trusted Spike more than she ever had anybody even her friends.  I love that cap and scene. The way they can just sit together. Buffy: I'm not ready for you to not be here. __________________

Buffy was denying too much I think
The only good thing about what everyone did was making Buffy realize how much she trusted Spike and then giving us their scenes on Touched I love how she didn't want him leave, just like "I can be alone with you here"  __________________
