I just heard the news and ME has made a Spike-Rapes-Buffy trading card.

Dude, that seems really wrong to me!
I mean I am not one of those people who blames the wrongs of the world on TV etc, but Spike himself is more or less considered "cool" (well he was before he became a Buffy-whipped-souled-bitch) and now there having him trying to rape Buffy as memorabilia? It seems kinda like there promoting rape. You know its cool, as long as you have bleached hair, a british accent and a black coat! __________________

And the women's rights people haven't even done anythign about it either. Theres just something so wrong with this. The cards already out too. I got to see it on one of the yahoo groups I'm in. Its freaking twisted. ): ) __________________

JOSS has nothing to do with what goes on the cards...so don't bother blaming him. he's not responsible for he merchandise...the company that made the cards is.
you're all gripping about it...but it was a big turning point in the season...they have the card in the set because it's part of the show and plot point, not because they want to necessarily profit from the single card itself (and spike's attempted rape of buffy). think about it people... there probably should have been some deliberation about whether or not to include the card in the set, but the reasons you all are giving for exactly why it was included--that they wanted to proft etc.--aren't as simple and as black and white as you'd like to believe. __________________
