Isn't Britney credited with the win. I know in the past, with the song-writing awards or something like that. They announce the song by the artist, and also say who wrote the song. But the artist who sang the song is still credited with the win. Although others share it. So it's not a complete win.

Britney sang the song, so I think she has the right to be declared the winner. Even though it's shared with those who were behind the song.

Even if others go up and collect the win.

In the movies. If a movie collects a editing or some techincal award. It's still credited to the movie. So isn't it the same with music?

US Weekly has done it again

In a message from the very Angry Britney Spears

NEW YORK, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The following is a statement from
Britney Spears:

I am disturbed by the photos and article that appeared in this week's
issue of US Weekly Magazine (dated Feb 28, 2005), which they call my "private
honeymoon album." Kevin and I chose a resort location where we were promised
absolute privacy and seclusion. Unfortunately, staff members took photographs
of us, which we allowed them to take once we were assured they were being
taken only for private use in a scrap book they gave us as a souvenir of our
honeymoon. Other magazines, including the Star, contacted us when presented
with these photographs and refused to publish them. Kevin and I thank those
other magazines for respecting our rights of privacy.

I'd hate to be a celebrity. Nothing is sacred - I'd hate for photos of my honeymoon to appear in the press.

As for the Grammy, I think the artist should be credited with at least a share in the win. But I don't know how these things work...

This is why US Weekly seems like a sleazy tabloid most weeks. And it's amazing that the actual tabloids like the Star had restraint. Which is good. I feel sorry for Britney and Kevin for having such a private moment sold to the magazines, without their knowledge or consent!

Yea that stinks. It is amazing that Star held back but being recently Britney made a comment about the main guy at US calling him fat etc it doesn't surprise me. Have you seen the movie Papparazzi? No good comes from pissing off the enemy.

Mmmm that is harsh. In a way I feel really bad for big celebrites when it comes to them wanting private time and not being invaded by the press but when you are famous you need to expect that kind of lifestyle.

*sigh* It is sad though.

I agree, I think they need to expect it up to a point. I hate it when celebrities just moan about the press and give them no credit for the importance of good publicity. It just seems in this case most papers respected their privacy and it's a shame that US Weekly couldn't resist.

Here is the same article generally from cnn.com. But a comment from the magazine is included!

My comment is that it's one thing for Britney to release the pictures. But it's another for a magazine to go against the celebrity. I know being a celebrity, you sign up for these stunts.

But they got the pictures from the resort. Britney has a right to be mad. I don't think it has to do with money. It was their honeymoon, privacy.

Britney Spears angry about published honeymoon photos

NEW YORK (AP) -- Britney Spears says the veil has been lifted on her honeymoon, and she's not happy.

Photos of Spears and her new husband, Kevin Federline, are on the cover of Us Weekly magazine under the headline: "Britney's Private Album!" Other pictures of the couple's October honeymoon in the Fiji islands are displayed on five pages inside the magazine, on newsstands Friday.

Spears quickly issued a statement condemning the use of the photographs, which show the happy couple relaxing and enjoying breakfast on the beach.

"Kevin and I chose a resort location where we were promised absolute privacy and seclusion," the 23-year-old pop star said. "Unfortunately, staff members took photographs of us, which we allowed them to take once we were assured they were being taken only for private use in a scrap book they gave us as a souvenir."

"Other magazines, including Star, contacted us when presented with these photographs and refused to publish them," said Spears. "Kevin and I thank those other magazines for respecting our rights of privacy."

Us Weekly, however, wasn't backing down.

In a statement Thursday to The Associated Press, the magazine said: "Coming from a celebrity who sold pictures of both her wedding and her stepdaughter, it's unlikely the issue here is privacy. Could it be that Britney is seeing red after not seeing the green from these photos? Britney Spears should start a magazine if she'd like to dictate her own coverage."

Britney, Brad Bash "Us"
by Sarah Hall

What do Britney Spears and Brad Pitt have in common?

Besides the obvious--fame, fortune, obsessive fans, etc.--the stars share a strong distaste for Us Weekly.

Both A-listers have lashed out at the glossy in recent days over spreads awarding them unwanted attention.

Spears' beef with Us began when the mag published unauthorized photos of her honeymoon with hubby, Kevin Federline--or K. Fed, as he's been rechristened in the press--in its Feb. 28 issue.

The pop diva said she was "disturbed" to see the spread featuring pics from her "private honeymoon album," which depicted the newlyweds soaking up intimate moments at the Fijian resort where they vacationed.

"Kevin and I chose a resort location where we were promised absolute privacy and seclusion. Unfortunately, staff members took photographs of us, which we allowed them to take once we were assured they were being taken only for private use in a scrapbook they gave us as a souvenir of our honeymoon," a distressed Spears said in a statement.

"Other magazines, including the Star, contacted us when presented with these photographs and refused to publish them. Kevin and I thank those other magazines for respecting our rights of privacy."

It's possible that the higher-ups at Us Weekly may have a wee beef with Spears as well.

In a recent sitdown with Details magazine for a cover story on the new and improved K. Fed (not a dancer, not yet an A-lister), Spears didn't bother to pull any punches while giving her opinion on the publication.

"I need to create my own magazine," the "Toxic" singer announced. "People are just way too obsessed with celebrity. Look at Us Weekly. I think the same guy who does Rolling Stone does Us Weekly. He's this big old fat man."

(Note: Jann Wenner is the publisher of both Us Weekly and Rolling Stone.)

For the record, Us agrees with Spears that she should start her own magazine.

In response to Spears' statement regarding the publication of her honeymoon pics, the mag indicated that the pop tart has been less than reclusive in the past.

"Coming from a celebrity who sold pictures of both her wedding and her stepdaughter, it's unlikely the issue here is privacy," an Us Weekly spokesperson said in a statement.

"Could it be that Britney is seeing red after not seeing the green from these photos? Britney Spears should start a magazine if she'd like to dictate her own coverage."

Touché.

Meanwhile, Spears has competition for angriest celeb of the week in the form of Pitt, after Us published photos claiming to show the thesp strolling a beach in Greece, sans wedding ring, in the company of model April Florio while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston.

In the accompanying article, Florio, 22, who was reportedly introduced to Pitt when she auditioned for a part in Troy, tells the magazine that she met him three more times in 2003--twice in Los Angeles and once in New York--but that nothing improper occurred, at least on her end.

"He tried to kiss me, but I shied away," Florio said, stating her disdain for getting involved with someone "in the industry."

The model also dished on Pitt's opinions of Aniston ("He hated his wife's chain-smoking. He also hated the fact that she liked to hang with her friends or just stay at home. He liked to go to parties more.") and Angelina Jolie ("He talked about her like she was a goddess.").

However, in a new interview with rival Star magazine, Florio denies making any of the remarks attributed to her by Us, claims she is not the woman pictured with Pitt and states that she met the big-screen hunk "only once, very briefly, at a party."

On Pitt's part, the Ocean's Twelve star categorically denied Us Weekly's version of events through various reps and is generally loaded for legal action.

"Brad has never been in Greece, and is not the person in those photographs in Greece. Brad does not know April Florio. He has never had dinner with her. He is not acquainted with her," the thesp's lawyer told Star. "Could he possibly have met her at some time? Maybe, because he meets so many people, but he does not ever recall meeting her. And he has certainly never had dinner and drinks with her.

"We don't really know who is responsible for these stupid, absolutely untrue, fabricated stories. For now, Brad is exploring all his legal options."

Us Weekly, unlike Florio, stands by its story.

If she doesn't want her pictures showing up in a magazine, she simply should have said no for "privacy" reasons.

whoa those were fightin words...: "Coming from a celebrity who sold pictures of both her wedding and her stepdaughter, it's unlikely the issue here is privacy," an Us Weekly spokesperson said in a statement.

"Could it be that Britney is seeing red after not seeing the green from these photos? Britney Spears should start a magazine if she'd like to dictate her own coverage."

Sad but somewhat true. I don't think shes thinking more about the money but there is sort of a point to it, I bet it crossed her mind at least once that she could have made alot off them.

"In The Zone" is Being Rereleased

omba Records and Jive announce a DualDisc for favourite, Bowling for Soup. The DualDisc is of their A Hangover You Don't Deserve. This is scheduled for April 19. And here's a few more for you. J Records will issue one for Gavin DeGraw of his Chariot album. That is also expected on April 19. More? RCA will release Kasabian's Kasabian titled album on DualDisc and Kings of Leon's Aha Shake Heartbreak (Ahh, good old fashioned opportunism. Could this DualDisc treatment be because of the U2 tour invite and thus lots of exposure? hmmmm). Both of those RCA DualDiscs are scheduled for April 26. J Records will street Turning Point from Mario in DualDisc format on April 19. Again, Zomba and Jive Records will reissue Britney Spears' In the Zone on DualDisc and Three Days Grace's self-titled album, also on DualDisc, both scheduled for April 19. That's a lot of new upcoming DualDisc releases.

Britney angry at honeymoon photos

Britney Spears is cross after an American magazine published photographs of her on her honeymoon.
The magazine called Us printed five pages of photos of Britney and her husband Kevin Federline at their honeymoon resort in Fiji.

Britney claims they chose the resort for its "privacy" and claims that staff took photos of them and sold them on.

A magazine spokesman said: "Britney should start her own magazine if she'd like to dictate her own coverage."

The photos showed Britney and Kevin on the beach and eating their breakfast on their honeymoon.

Britney also said that some other magazines contacted her to say they'd been offered photos too, but had agreed not to publish them.

"Kevin and I thank those other magazines for respecting our rights of privacy," the singer said.

However, the Us magazine added that as Britney sold pictures of her wedding to a magazine, there was not an issue of privacy with her.
