Hoping everyone affected by the terrible Saddleridge/Sylmar fires is being as safe as possible & evacuating ASAP if required. Xoxoxo I was given some good tips for helping with your air quality in your home that I thought I’d share for those of you in surrounding areas affected by the smoke...
1. If air quality at your home is extremely poor, and you or anyone in your family is having trouble breathing, consider staying with family or friends.
2. Run an air purifier
3. Check, clean and/or replace any air filters you have in your home.
4. Grab some air purifying plants for your home. Aloe may be the easiest to find. A few others include Spider Plants, Philodendrons, Garden Mum, Dracaena, Ficus/Weeping Fig, Peace lily, Boston Fern, Snake Plant, Bamboo Palm, Aloe Vera, Gerbera Daisy, Golden Pothos, and Chinese Evergreen.
5. Avoid long and strenuous outdoor activity in smoggy areas today.
6. Decrease total body inflammation with supplements such as vitamin D, C, magnesium, omega 3’s, glutathione, quercetin, bromelain, NAC and probiotics.
7. Decrease total body inflammation through herbs such as turmeric, ginger, nettle, cordyceps, licorice and root.
