Didn't Belle say in Skin Deep that it was an arranged marriage? Regardless, he did seem to care about her on some level (and she him, at least when she was trying to assure him when she agreed to go with Rumple).

Yes! And Jasmine too! Both her and Belle wanted to see the world, they could definitely bond over that. They're my two favorite princesses, so I would love it

Yea, what we were shown did not match up with Disney's Gaston. And all we have that he was superficial was Belle's word, but I don't think any of his actions supported that.

I'm disappointed the show ruined Mo and his relationship with Belle. He's her only family, so that would've been nice for her to have.
