aww. When I was a kid, our only cartoons were Looney Tunes (Bugs Bunny et al) and Disney's Mickey Mouse/Donald Duck, etc.
On the other hand, we had much better human heroes .. Roy Rogers & Dale Evans, Gene Autrey, Sky King, Lone Ranger, Cisco Kid, the Range Rider (my personal favorite), Davy Crockett, Daniel Boone.. so many more. And real animals like Fury, Flicka, Lassie and Rin-Tin-Tin. They were great!  Somebody ought to bring them back. __________________

I never watched LHotP. I read the books over and over when I was 10 and strongly identified with them because I grew up in that part of the country (called, the Great Plains).
I didn't want to think of Laura and her family in any way but what I knew from those books. The Long Winter was by far my favorite.  Lassie was wonderful in all her (his) incarnations. __________________
