(James laughs) Well, you know you're trying to find expression that doesn't make your face twist and contort, so you try to put a lot of emotion in your eyes. If you can communicate something just when you decide to look from A to B, that's the best. But I found that instead of going like this, (makes scrunched up face) you go (tilts head) Yeah, it's a trick It's basically a trick - I did it once and I liked it and I just did it forever. It became like my little Leonard Nimoy eyebrow (lifts one eyebrow)

Yup, check out this one James Marsters Database not been updated in recent years, but if you are looking for James' responses to some of the typical topics that come his way all the time this is golden. It's actually cool how consistent his answers are even when questions are put to him just now when compared to a few years ago.

It also makes it more special when he does change his stories or opinions, like when he started out very much a materialist, but recently got more spiritual in is outlook, I think mostly based on Jasmins' more new age look on life. He's been listening to her I think.

Yeah, I guess season 7 already eased up on it, though there was the scene of him and Faith in the basement reminiscing on their personal big bad moments that involved smokes...

Had to be hard on him, too, wanting to quit and then having to smoke for a scene. That's got to set you right back on your personal cravings, too...

Well, he was using the patch for a long time after quitting smoking, perhaps even still? So I don't think occasionally going back to cigarettes would be that hard? Or maybe it is. I've never tried it

I do know that he hated the taste of "those disgusting herbals" that he had to use for scenes after he quit though And that he felt bad that they didn't give as much visible smoke on screen.
