You know I was thinking that the rumor came out I think because Safran liked a tweet from a French network saying the show was starting there on Sep. 2 with three episodes. But that tweet doesn't say S2, I think it's just that the first season is premiering there :look:

Yeah, it's strange that a french tv channel announces the premiere before HBO Max, don't you think?

I think they're pretty far with editing, anyway, even though the trailer surely won't have images from the whole season, just the first bunch of episodes, imho.

PLL ends this week, so maybe after that they'll start promo for GG?

Thursday is the PLl finale, maybe in the weekend, then? I think more of next week, so the PLL buzz lowered down a little and the attention can be on GG.

Anyway the cast and also the writers are still in Europe/Italy, so they can't even do press for the show. I'm so tired of waiting, even though I fear for my ship. The only way of stopping wondering about what happens is seeing it, so I need the show to come back asap.

Hopefully now that PLL last three episodes aired, HBO Max can start focusing on bringing back the GG buzz? We need the show back :( it's about time, I can't believe it ended more than 8 months ago and we got nothing after that, since they posted a ton of stuff in those two weeks and then went silent.

I get not wanting to take away from the PLLOS buzz & finale but surely they could confirm the next show they're playing without doing that? :facepalm:. Even if it is a teaser which involves both shows. Something like 'enjoying the final episodes of PLLOS? stay tuned for another amazing show, Gossip Girl coming soon' to start the buzz but respect both shows :look:. That is a TINY thing & they can plug & promote PLLOS constantly still (presuming they are) so wouldn't hurt anything

Their promotion will probably be posting the trailer on YT and GG social media accounts and maybe Safran and the actors doing some press (but they're still on holiday now, I guess they have some free weeks before press work starts and then once the show has premiered, they're free again).

MAYBE they could use GG texts service to send subscribers some tiny teasers, like they already did in the past with 1b: I remember if you replied to a GG text with a certain emoji, you'd receive a tiny "GG style" video of the character associated with that emoji saying something about what was going to come for that character. They also sent teasing texts about the characters. People posted them on Twitter, luckily, because it's a eature for US and Canada only.

I'm sure they're keeping the characters IGs frozen until the show comes back, like they did with 1b. Before the show premiered they posted just one not spoilery pic in all the profiles, but I doubt they're going to do the same now. It would be nice, since people probably forgot those account exist or maybe even unfollowed them because of inactivity.

I forgot about all those accounts. The fact that they have a GG show account means they could easily promote it just on that without interrupting promoting PLLOS. It does make it seem like it may be later on since they're quiet in all areas. But it could just be they're sticking with PLLOS promoting for now still.

I wonder if House of the Dragon has to end first too before GG starts? I'm pretty sure that's a HBO show though, not just HBO Max. So I'd think they could have an HBO Max Original still. Might simply wait until after Sunday to start promoting GG too that way PLLOS has had a few days, HotD has started... :look: one can hope anyway

Yeah, especially because I only care about my ship spoilers and they were mixed and confused and obviously incomplete, so I fear for them. I'd be worried anyway (it's GG), but the fact that I know reasons to be worried makes it worse. As I said, I want to see and at the same time I don't :lol:


The GG account and the character ones are managed by an agency and also Safran and Matthew Begbie, I posted an article about it here in this thread. The thing is that they're really bounded to the episodes, so if the show isn't airing, they're like frozen, because being a social media, they must be up to date when you can actually see the characters "live". That's why last year we gotr nothing during the hiatus and then tons of posts in the span of two weeks, all stuff they had prepared in relation to the episodes.

Still it sucks that they abandon them when the show's not airing it, the only thing they update is Aki's Letterboxd and I think also Zoya and Audrey Goodreads. Youì're right, they could use those to keep the buzz on the show, but I guess it costs money? No idea :pout:

I was wondering the same thing, you know? But it would mean November, for GG, since that ends on October 23rd. It's an HBO show, true, but for example it seems that the reason why we got 1b in batches was because GG had to end before Euphoria (an HBO show) started in January.

I hope it's not the same case :(

So, according to Safran's today stories, they started editing for the show. I'm pretty sure that's the premiere, because it starts after the Christmas break, so those scenes in the car(s) are probably the gang going back to NY from Aki's house.

The shot those scenes in April, with the green screen. Safran himself posted those, so it's ridiculous that he's now covering Evan, Thomas and Eli faces with emojis :lol:

It's a sign that they do care, anyway, like the got creative at least and made something related to GG. I'd rather they didn't at all, because I don't care at all about HOTD, just like I don't care about PLLOS, so it's simply random to me. They better use those accounts to promote GG, then!

I wouldn't be surprised if they started promoting the show a couple of weeks only before it's back :pout: with 1b they did like this, we got nothing for more than two months and suddenly posters and trailer. They already took the posters and promotional pics after they wrapped the US filming and before coming to Italy, so those should be ready, I hope.




I want to hope the release is still in October, no idea how much time editing takes, they have also to record the Kristen Bell voiceovers, I guess? Unless they already did it.

Yeah, although it's really blink and you'll miss it :lol: honestly I doubt they have the trailer ready, at this point, since editing started a few days ago :look: they won't show stuff from the whole season, probably (no idea if they'll drop some Italy scenes to attract the audience), but at least stuff from the first four or five episodes will be there, I think.
It could be different, anyway, since we don't have the hiatus this time, but if they need to edit all 10 episodes before we get a trailer...I hope not.

I wonder if he was allowed to say that, though :lol: the interview took place when they were still filming S2 in NY, because the interviewer mentions a brunch on a Sunday when he's on a break from filming. I linked it in his thread, check it out if you like :)

It's interesting that S2 has to premiere and they already trust the show to do well? I remember it was renewed after just one episode or two, but like for PLLOS they still have to say anything.

They took down the HoTD post from GG account and also the PLLOS ad from GG bio, but only on IG.
