Poor Luke. He lost Lorelai and his diner was wrecked within a day.

You definitely feel for him there.

:broken_heart::bawl: Poor Luke.

Was Matt doing another show at the time of filming or something? Why was he so absent this season?

708: I am going SO SLOW on this rewatch, I am sorry, but I just am never feeling up for watching these episodes lol. I'm glad this is the final season and I am excited to rewatch the revival episodes. Luke asking April if there is going to be kissing :lmao: I don't mind April or even Luke having a daughter, I just wish it had played out way different. Had Lorelai been close to her I would have way preferred that! I don't blame Rory for being mad about her parents getting married cuz like, things with Luke JUST ended and it feels very rushed. But then they seemeed to back track and make it be about her missing the wedding... sure.. The good thing is that the writers imo are making it obvious this whole thing was a mistake. Alexis looked beautiful in this episode! Logan getting mad at Rory's paper was so crazy. I mean, he could be offended but the way he was talking to Rory was not okay. Luke called Lorelai! Lorelai going to the hospital was so cute. :) Did he not see the ring??? |
I would love to have seen Luke bond with April along with Lorelai. That's what should have happened, instead of the "use the kid as a plot device to break the couple up drama" that we got.
Oh he saw the ring and when he did his heart is crushed. :( |
Exactly. I would've much preferred to see Lorelai and April bonding in some way instead of using her as a plot device to break LL up. :irked: I suppose they felt the need to fabricate drama in order to keep their viewership.
Ugh, I hate when writers do that. All we wanted was for L/L to be happy. I don't care if the writers think that's "boring" - it isn't to us fans.
I think that’s the idea, though, that it may be fine for us shippers but it’s not the same in terms of the fandom in general.
Maybe. I think even fans who don't invest in the romantic relationships don't want the relationship drama.
I would have loved to see April and Lorelai bonding too. :sigh: April looks so happy to see her at the town meeting later in this season, it's cute. so much wasted opportunity. :(
Yeah, that was sweet. Lorelai clearly made a great impression on April. Love that they even hugged in that scene.
It was nice to see that LL scene after not having one for several episodes. Poor Luke when he learns she’s married though. :(
Oh that was a tough scene when he learns that. And us as viewers knowing that Lorelai doesn't actually want to be married to Chris and is still in love with Luke, makes it all that more heartbreaking.
Yes, it does.

This episode was more entertaining to me than the others... Ugh, I feel so bad for Luke seeing Lor with Chris because like, he was insecure about that when they were dating and for her to run straight to him after they broke up? Like it kinda confirmed all his worst suspicions and fears... so frustrating. And then Luke finds out that shes taking April with her? What the heck. I can't stand Marty! He is so weird and annoying. He finally stops being a jerk just to flirt with Rory? Gross. No BYEEEEEE. I really cant stand Anna! She talks as if shes the only parent here! She can't make all the decisions. So annoying. Good for Luke standing up to Anna at the end of the episode! Yes! Go Luke! |
Ugh to Anna and her shenanigans.
Anna is the worst. Though I prefer what the season 7 writers did with her, from what I read were ASP's potential original plans to do with her, had she been there writing the season. Which was to put Luke and Anna in a relationship. Big yikes, big no. Lorelai and Chris together is bad enough without that.
I don't remember hearing that. Hmm.
Yeah, I can see her doing that. She had Anna do some subtle flirting with Luke in season 6, but there was nothing like that in season 7.

Indeed. It would cheapen Luke's character, for him to be with the woman who kept his daughter hidden from him for 12 years. And they already really butchered his character enough in season 6, without that. I much prefer the redemption arc we got from Luke in season 7. I at least, saw it as that.

Yes, she was definitely trying to convince herself and Chris of it, because it wasn't true. If she kept saying it, she could make herself and Chris believe it. And because we know she doesn't mean it, it makes her saying so cringey.
I think it was pretty obvious the whole time she was trying to convince herself she loved Chris.
710: Anna is a freaking beyotch, sorry. Chris wants another baby? Really? And Gigi isn't even that old. I understood Lor's frustration too when he said Rory turned out good lol. Yeah bro, you really had no part in that and I'm sorry but I can't really forgive Christopher for that still. The LL moment was short but sweet, too bad Chris has to go ruin it. I totally forgot they fought at the end too, so dumb! Interesting to see Emily concerned about her relationship with Chris but I don't really get what she was trying to accomplish with that conversation. The whole Marty thing is so old and overplayed now. Why are we still on this? Logan was a total ass for just mentioning to Lucy that they knew each other, like what the hell. He easily could have lied for Rory, he was just jealous. Stupid. And imo it wouldnt make sense that Olivia would be so mad at Rory too. Anyways, another blah episode. Seems im watching once a month now. |
