I just watched 705. I thought it was as decent episode.

It was nice to see Logan back for a bit. I thought he and Rory were sweet in the episode. Him surprising her on the roof was very cute. The dinner with the friends felt off though. Moments like that kinda remind me why I think they dont really fit into each others worlds. Like Logan just tends to be friends with a lot of stuffy sort of people imo. However I did feel like Rory was overreacting to Bobbi and the whole dinner.

Chris/Lorelai drama was fine, but it didn't interest me. I think that Lor was exactly right in pinpointing why Chris got upset with her. He did leave Rory and was a crappy father and he def. felt that judgement when Lor was talking about her hesitations with Gigi. I do think its the right thing to go to Paris WITH Gigi and make sure things with the mom are okay btu even then I would be hesitant to et my daughter just go with the mom that abandoned her? He seemed a little too chipper over the whole thing. And fighting with Lorelai over it wasnt cool.

The fact that she cant even see Luke is very telling. And prob. says she shouldnt be rushing into this thing with Christopher. But with that said I dont hate C/L as much as I did the first few times. Maybe because I know where it ends in the revival .

The title is from this episode. Such a random plot.

Thanks for the new thread! Nice title. :)

I never usually watch the Chris scenes in these early episodes, but I actuslly made myself watch them on my last watch and I forgot how much of an ass he was to Lorelai over the Gigi/Sherry thing. It was his usual man-child, whiny, sulky way and then Lorelai has to coddle him to make him feel better, then he eventually turns his mood around. It just comes off as his manipulative ways to me, like he knows Lorelai will coddle him if he keeps his pouting up and it's exactly what happened.

Talula78 10-15-2021 06:03 AM

Tftnt! Love the title. That was such a crazy plot line.

Boring episode. Super boring. WAY too much Chris and Chris/Lor. I did like seeing Rory at school but even though Chris is back with Lor he just seems far more concerned about her then even his own daughter which was the main issue!

I liked Luke's storyline but him dating someone new, no. Dont wanna see it.

Wish I could say more but I dont remember much else from the episode lol. Forgettable.

Lindsay 11-04-2021 07:27 PM

Luke dating definitely was weird.

onebreath 11-05-2021 02:04 AM

Yep, 7.06 is super boring. I skip so many scenes in this one. Luke dating the swim coach was definitely very weird. Luke is better off focusing his time on April, to heal over the break up with Lorelai. A much better way to deal with it than Lorelai, who is rebounding with Chris. Unhealthy and not good.

Lindsay 11-06-2021 11:01 AM

I agree.

onebreath 11-06-2021 11:55 AM

I also didn't like how Lorelai had to coddle Chris, when he was getting all upset over missing out on Rory's life. No, Lorelai, call him out on it, have him own up to it. He deserves to feel guilty and crap about it because it was his choice to miss out. Don't coddle him over it.

And of course, Chris being Chris, uses his money to try and wow Rory's newspaper team. I mean, what was with that, inviting them all skiing? Like he knows nothing about Rory and actually thought they were her friends she'd want to go skiing with? lol and Chris is just going to pay for this trip for everyone?? His way of using money to try and impress people is nauseating.

Talula78 11-08-2021 06:03 AM

Ew, yeah, watching Luke date that swim coach-that's a big fat NOPE for me. :nono:

707: God this episode...

HOW MANY TIMES DID CHRIS AND LOR HAVE TO SAY "GOD I LOVE YOU" PUKE. I'm sorry but no.... this was the most rushed relationship ever lol. I dont care if they have known each other forever.

I liked them in paris up until all that stuff and then dont even get me started on the marriage crap and then she comes home MARRIED??? LORELAI!!! And she didnt even seem happy. What the hell was that, DUMB.

I did like Rory's storyline at least. Its relatable feeling lost after graduation and not knowing what you are going to do with your life. I do like her school friends. Marty, wtf is your problem bro???

I liked the scenes with Lane too so we can finally learn more about her pregnancy etc. Its about time she stands up to her mom.

Talula78 11-13-2021 06:30 AM

I hated what they did to Marty in season 7. :irked:

onebreath 11-13-2021 08:45 AM

7.07 is a train wreck of an episode. I like to pretend it doesn't exist.

Ain’t that the truth.

onebreath 11-14-2021 02:36 AM

They say I love you so much that it makes super cringey and not believable.

Well, we know for a fact Lorelai doesn't love Chris (she is not in love with him, since she is still in love with Luke and had only ever been in love with Luke). Maybe Chris was in love with Lorelai, but it was all one way.

Lindsay 11-14-2021 08:20 PM

Yep, exactly.

onebreath 11-15-2021 02:53 AM

In part it might be the writing, since ASP was never one for having Lorelai actually say I love you to a romantic partner and it's different writers here. But in any case, it feels so off, cringe and not right.

Talula78 11-15-2021 06:15 AM

It came off to me like they were saying it out loud in order to convince themselves of its truth.

onebreath 11-15-2021 12:36 PM

Yep, same. With Lorelai anyway. If she kept saying it, she could make herself believe it was true. And she also knew it was what Chris wanted to hear.

Talula78 11-16-2021 05:45 AM

^ Exactly.

Lindsay 11-17-2021 05:33 PM
