I didn’t care for either. They weren’t good matches IMO for Luke and Lorelai.

I still stand by Lorelai telling Rory that what she did was wrong in the season 4 finale as one of the best speeches? that Lorelai made (really great acting from Lauren)

and the phone call at the end is a sad scene but it’s one of the best sad scenes

the timing of Kirk running out naked (love re-watching that every time)

I didn't care for either. I accepted them for the purpose they served but was more than ready for them to move on past those relationships in order for them to realize their feelings for the other and be together.
