even though it could also be considered a character flaw I like how she has a tendency to see the good in others

For me it's her smarts, combined with her compassion. Seeing the best in everyone. Always being there for her mother, etc. She also has great moments, filled with humor, but for me she was always the heart of the show. Lorelai was always written in a more funny way if that makes sense. They both had their thing and I loved that. They combined that into one hell of a special mother-daugther dynamic.

I don't think that's a character flaw at all, I think it's a strength. I think we could all benefit from a little more of that in our lives.

yeah I guess what I meant is that she can be a bit naive at times

protected sheltered

but she does have good judgement of other people's character most of the time

I see, I agree. Sometimes that can come back and bite her in the ass but those are the risks you take and ultimately it makes you a better person.
