'as heartbreaking as literati is i absolutely love the bad as much as the good. i love how realistic it is that jess would bail on rory to figure himself out and to become the man she was worthy of in his eyes. i love the desperation in jess’ “i love you” and rory’s face that shows how painful it was that he left her and then felt he had the right to make such a statement. i love the urgency when he asks her to go away with him and how broken he still is and how she just keeps saying no because the timing is wrong, his proposal is absurd, and she still hadn’t gotten over the fact that he broke her heart. i love all the bitter between them because through all of it they always seem to end up back in each other’s worlds no matter how much time passed and how rough times were when they left off. it’s hard to believe they wouldn’t cross paths again. there’d be opportunities. at luke and lorelai’s wedding. in her travels. if he wrote another book. the possibilities were endless with them. there’s something so romantic about all of it.' For me it was those intense moments they shared in season 4 that gives them an even deeper connection. __________________
