They both knew it was right. They both loved each other before getting to that stage, so that adds to them being so comfortable so instantly.

I wonder what Rachel would say if she knew it took Luke a further three years to tell her.

I honestly think he would have told Lorelai that night he went to pick up his toolbox, but Max turning up put a stop to that. Then of course there was the engagement, so he would have thought he missed his chance.

Yep. Two ships sailing in the night. It just wasn't meant to be...at that time. I actually appreciate that they kept them apart for so long. If they would've gotten together at that point in the series I don't feel they would've made it to endgame. I appreciate slow burns and the long drawn out tension.

Yeah, I love the slow burn, too. It's more of an indication the couple are going to be endgame, if they go through that process I feel. Plus, the build up to it is half the enjoyment of the ship. I love Luke and Lorelai as a couple, but I equally love them as friends and the build up to them becoming a couple.

Totally agree 100%! I will take a slow friends to lovers burn over a thrust them together immediately and watch as they crash and burn any day of the week.
