Maybe it's the way he held himself too.

I am absolutely not complaining. But I wonder did they make a conscious decision to tweak his wardrobe after that. Especially since Milo was settling into the character more.

Baggier shirts, layers etc.

Maybe softened his hair? IDK Because he just looks so much younger as seasons 2 & 3 go on.

for the record though I think that shirt in the lake scene kinda represented him being like Rory transitioning to a more mature (okay that’s not exactly the word I’m looking for) stage of her life compared to Dean so it was intentional that he was supposed to look older
