I finished S6 today. I loved their scenes at her party. Ugh. Damn Anna reacting like she did.

For some reason, I could never really hate Anna. I guess I drew some parallels with Lorelai. She would have done the same thing in many cases. But she could have been a bit more lenient, if she had gotten to know Lorelai better.

Lorelai still let Rory hang out with Sherry (alone, I might add) even if she didn't like it, and that was just when she was dating Chris. They weren't even engaged at the time.

Aside from that, Luke was always there for Rory. He hung out with her daughter, the same should've been for Lorelai with his. Lorelai didn't even need 1-on-1 time with April, she just wanted to get to know her. Luke could've been there the entire time and it would've been fine.

Yes, but Rory was a bit older than April and Rory had known Christopher. For April and Luke it was all new and April was only like 12? So, for Anna, she had to get used to her daughter knowing Luke and then Luke's girlfriend/fiancé whom she didn't know? I can see her hesitation.

Although Rory didn't really know her dad that much better. Christopher came and went as he pleased.

At least when Luke found out about April he was there, wanted to be there and stayed there. It was all Anna's fault for not telling him because she thought ill of him. I just think she was rude and handled everything wrong. Just because you knew Luke when you were teens/young adults doesn't mean he was always going to be the same person. Especially when it came to his own kid. Lots of people are like that.

What is Luke was already married? Would Anna only let April get to know her dad and not the people in his life? It's a ridiculous thought process. Besides the fact that she was able to meet Lane and other Stars Hollow townies but Lorelai was pushed aside.

Well, for Anna, that would have been different. They weren't even living together. :look: So, putting April in Lorelai's care, is something I can definitely see a person having a problem with. But it's also Luke's fault. If he had included Lorelai, April might have bonded with her more? Lorelai was never around when April visited, so Anna probably only heard April talk about Lorelai as Luke's friend whom she didn't really know.

I never thought I'd be defending Anna. :lol:

At that point in time Luke was generally supposed to be living with Lorelai already. I mean, that's why they renovated the house.

I still don't agree with Anna. I understand if Lorelai was Luke's girlfriend, you don't want her to get attached to a passing ship but the term fiancée should've meant something more to both of them. That already proved commitment.

It should, but he never really committed. He should have moved in, but never did. :look:

But if the entire April thing never happened then he would've.

I once tweeted her apologizing for hating April just because I was jealous that I wasn't cast in the part :lol:

It also would have been different if Luke had known about April and had always been in her life. She would have interacted with Lorelai before they were a couple. I think it would have played out differently. I also hate how Anna acted during the custody case. It would have been wrong for April not to continue to have Luke in her life.
