But I'm a Gilmore Discussion
After Rory tells Logan that she can't have a casual relationship with him and they should go back to being just friends, she is amazed when Logan insists he is ready to commit to her. However, when he brings her home to meet his powerful and intimidating family, Rory is shocked by his parents' negative reaction to the relationship. The following day, Logan's father apologizes to Rory and offers her an internship at one of his newspapers. Meanwhile, when Sookie is put on bed rest by her doctor, Lorelai calls Luke to fill in as the substitute chef at the Dragonfly Inn.

I can't wait for this episode!!! Ever since I read the sides for this ep when the hiatus started...this is what got me through it. My stomach is in knots due to the sheet anticipation of what's to come. I will get no sleep tonight b/c I'll be up all night posting on the threads. I won't get any work done tomorrow. Work is going to suck.

here's the discussion thread for the ep. It got bumped down.
I am so excited for tonight's ep. I'm on the west coast, so I still have a couple hours, but I'm looking forward to reading everyone's responses! __________________

So far, so good!
A few preliminary thoughts: - Loving Luke at Dragonfly. - Logan and Rory are sweet as an official couple so far. - TPTB did a great job casting Honor! She's perfect for the role. - I really don't like that Rory is so tight-lipped with Lorelai about her relationship with Logan. - I was expecting a little bit more from the Huntzberger dinner scene, but what we got was well done; excellent casting all around. Loving the lack of townie storylines! A welcome relief after last week's episode. __________________

WTH! Is anyone else pissed about the way Logan agreed to be Rory's bf? He didn't do it because he wants to, he did it because he wants to prove something to her! I'm so mad at him!
ETA: And I'm not even watching the epi... just reading what people are typing! |

am i the only one that felt the whole episode was kinda choppy, it just didnt seem to flow. as much as i love rory/logan, i wasnt too happy watching. maybe the spoilers killed the excitement.

swtevjade, it was a little choppy, but I think it incorporated a lot of really good plotlines. Luke filling in for Sookie at the Dragonfly was great. Sookie and Jackson were hilarious, especially when they were riding home in their stolen cart. I loved Paris and Doyle's scenes and the incorporation of Paris' nanny. And I am so grateful that there were no extraneous townie scenes, or even any Lane/band scenes! So much more can be accomplished when there aren't a million silly filler stories about Kirk, Taylor, Babette, and Miss Patty. I only wish we got a little more Lorelai/Rory time. And it really irks me how Rory is shirking her mom's advice and demanding that Lorelai not comment on this aspect of her life. A little selfish and immature I think. __________________

I don't really blame her either. She probably knows exactly what Lorelai is going to say. And since she's happy, why would she want to hear Lorelai say negative things? I'm sure there's a time where we've all wanted to talk to our parents without getting their advice/commentary at one point or another. And I think Germ's right about Rory thinking that things will work out.

Very funny episode...lovin' Luke's last rant to Lorelai. And the way he grabbed that ladle back from Sookie was flippin' hilarious. I also liked the little couch scene with L/L. This is the kind of stuff the JJ's are looking for, although no kissing involved---but it was a quiet, comfortable moment where you can feel the fact that they are really a couple. At least that's what I felt. Looking forward to the last 3!

Rory does have a right to be silent and not tell Lorelai, but its kinda sad because they use to tell each other everything. Lorelai doesn't seem to like Logan at all and rory knows that and she just doesn't want to have to hear her mother go against them being together.

That was a great episode. Logan's family was horrible but I am happy the way Rory handled it. And I love how Logan also stood by her.
