I think I would have liked something like Marvel's Thor and Loki, an adversarial relationship but deep (VERY DEEP) own, the familial connection remains. Tal can't escape his crimes obviously, the government would want to incarcerate him, if killing isn't an option. I don't mind that as long as they don't get rid of him completely. Bring him back after a season of resting the character. I want his reformation to be as far as having a relationship with Kal (later the rest of the family), not an easy one but one regardless. I don't necessarily want him to become a good guy, I don't think that would be realistic for this show.

I hope so too. He and Kal have a vibe together that I want explored. It's funny how dismissive of Clark he was when he didn't know they were actually brothers (he fired the man without so much as a backward glance, I don't think they interacted all that much at the Daily Planet) but now things are so different.

Oh yeah, I did not even remember that Edge was the one who fired Clark. That is a good point, that he did not care for Clark at all. Did he know that he was Kal-El at that point?
