I don't think he had any real/close friends, at least not ones he'd actively socialise with.

I don't think that Jordan had any friends in Metropolis. In the pilot it looked like he had a really difficult time.

Definitely

What do you think will be in store for Jordan in the last few episodes?

A clear opposite of his character at the start of the show.

He has come a long way. Although I hope that all his character development doesn't hang on his relationship with Sarah.

I don't think so, his relationship with Clark is showing the most improvement. He used to be so closed off from his dad and angry at him compared to Jon and Lois but now, it's like he's a completely to the one we met at the start of the show. he deals with everything, his powers, his anxiety in healthy and open ways.

I know what you mean. I think it's not so much character development, but given both he and Sarah have struggled with mental health issues, I think there is a risk of... co-dependance? On the one hand, they are 14 year olds and love is always big at 14. Jordan is having his first relationship ever, and has felt a connection to her from the start, so it makes sense that he's wide-eyed and a bit awed at how great being in love feels and for someone to want him when he's so often felt alone and isolated. I definitely see his relationship with Clark improving and even with his brother... it's been great. I hope that Jordan continues to grow outside of his relationship with Sarah, because she shouldn't be the only reason he feels good about himself, or confident or happy. Not only is that bad for his own emotional and mental health long-term, but it's not fair to her either.

Let's hope they do not go the co-dependency route. That is never healthy by any stretch of the imagination.

Fingers crossed. I don't want them to go that route by any stretch... but I can't say I don't see the risk there, either.

I don't think they will go that route, had this been anything but a genre show about superheros, I'd expect it but I think the meat of their stories lies elsewhere for the moment.
