Exactly. I like him every other episode, and every other I hate him

I know Sam isn't a favourite in the Superman mythology but I like having him around, especially with his daughter married to Big Blue. He's an interesting character to have around when they aren't writing him like a xenophobic, mass murderer wannabe of all Kryptonians. I certainly love what the show is doing with him. I want to see the same thing in the comics.

^ I agree. He is very protective of his daughter and he loves his grandsons, and he respects Clark as himself and as superman. But he is in the end doing just his job, and I do appreciate his desire to protect the mankind. He is complex and interesting.

Yes, complex and interesting is always good in my book. I hope he survives the season since in the comics they kind of killed him off immediately after learning of the secret, years after Lois and Clark married so I never got to enjoy this dynamic between the three characters.

That's interesting that the show is doing something new. I do think he will survive. I hope he will anyway!

It must be so though for Sam to balance his work with his family. He has to think about the best of the whole world, and he knows his actions might have disastrous consequences.

Ugh, I was rooting for Sam to finally side with his family at least this once but he continues to disappoint. I want him to keep his word but we'll see.

He has a lot on his plate, but it is disappointing how he keeps letting Lois and the boys down. I could understand him not siding with Clark but with Lois pleading with him, and Sam not giving a damn, I doubt he will ever really side with Lois.

I guess he is family And he has been there for them. He just doesn't seem to like Clark that much

Yeah, very true Although it was established in the very first episode that he and Superman have a solid work relationship, so I think everything went to hell just recently

Colour me shocked, Sam actually picked his family over his duty. It's ironic, it was at that moment Clark told him he wasn't wrong having something like 7734. I love how this show can surprise me at times.
