So on the show her mother was not mayor?

We never really saw her mom in the show. Suki's family and backstory were never really explained but it looks like they're making her a bigger part of the life action.

I'm always in awe how she was meant to be a one off character, but because she was so beloved she was brought back

And now she is continuing to be developed

She's in season 1 but only for one episode. It's early on, I want to say maybe the third or fourth episode.

She's in a few more episodes throughout the show, but that first episode was supposed to be her only appearance.
