I finally started my rewatch, I admit it's a tad bit silly in season 1 compared to legend of korra, but I like it. I also forgot how sad it was when aang is so excited to meet his people and then finds out they were all murdered.

But it was so lovely to see when katara and sokka told him that they are now his family. That was heartwarming.

Ooo yay! I do remember thinking that there was a little more kiddie humor in the beginning of ATLA but it sobers up when Aang finds out about the airbender genocide.

Yep, in a way it's surprising a more kid oriented show tackled topics like genocide, disney would never, shows that it's actually for a more mature audience in the end.

The beginning of something truly special and a big journey.

The beginning of ATLA definitely had more "kiddie" humor. That gradually becomes less prevalent
