EPISODE 2x16: You've Got Yale

Airing: JANUARY 19TH, 2009 at 8PM/7PM ET

It’s that stressful time of year when Constance Billard and St. Jude’s students find out who is and isn’t worthy of early admission to Yale University. Serena (Blake Lively) bonds with her new Shakespeare teacher, Rachel (guest star Laura Breckenridge), who has no clue the wrath she is about to suffer after giving Blair (Leighton Meester) the first B of her prep school career. Chuck (Ed Westwick) pairs up with an unlikely ally in his war with Jack (guest star Desmond Harrington) over Bass Industries. Nate (Chace Crawford) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) spend a romantic evening at the opera.

I'm not really sure what to expect from this episode. I wish that Blair has some lighter moments after all the drama but at the same time I don't want this to be another episode where Blair and Serena are fighting over Yale.

Im afraid thats exactly what will happen

It would also fit with the overall SL for her lately, where everything seems to be going wrong for her and she is slowly cracking under pressure (everything that happened with Chuck, now Yale) plus we all know this show should be called Torture Blair As Much as You Can

It would be VERY unfair though if S/SD get(s) in and Blair gets waitlisted, and then SB will have a lame fight over that ectect. Itd be contirived and recycled drama.

Definitely contrived...with B's record and all the extra curricular stuff she has to get in...she's wanted it for so long been preparing for it. Def don't want tis to be another for her and S to fight over.

The ep had its good and bad moments for me.

I loved Chuck/Lily..it was nice to see Chuck decide to come back and stay with the Van der Woodsens. And it was great when Chuck rescued her from Jack. I felt so bad for her in that scene.

Nate/Vanessa were cute, but it was simple fluff.

Eric trying to coach Rufus on what to do at the opera was adorable.

The teacher needs to go. She is seriously annoying and now it looks like she is hitting on Dan. Ew!

I can't believe Blair was wait-listed. And I didn't like her planning on revenge on the teacher since it backfired. But it was good to see her apologize. I also didn't like the teacher whining to the headmistress about it.
