TFTNT!

For me, ER will forever be the BEST SHOW EVER. No matter how many new shows I like or watch...ER wins.

  For me the same. Drama: ER - Comedy: Friends

With me, if I go a few months without watching ER, I start to think 'Eh, the show wasn't THAT amazing compared to others'.

Then when I do watch ER again, I want to bow down and commit my life to it.

Public Service Announcement: CTV Two (Canada's main network) apparently airs ER Reruns at midnight on Sundays. Why am I just finding this out now?! The ep where George comes back in the final season is on right now.

I'm Not Dead 01-06-2014 08:08 AM

Good stuff. I'd love some late-night reruns here, as I'm never home to catch them through the day.

Aurora Cormier 01-06-2014 10:40 AM

I'd love reruns at ANY time here :(

Yeah, it's just by happenstance that I get some reruns, I guess. I mean, I live in the U.S., but for some reason, I get one of the Canadian channels. I do live kind of close to Canada, though. So that could be part of the reason.

If they have been playing reruns all along and are now just finishing with the last season, I'm going to be disappointed.

And it's funny too because I was just thinking last night about how I hated that CBS switched from showing late night ER reruns to CSI Miami reruns, and then I flipped through the channels and found ER! So weird.

I know. Such a downgrade, right? I cringe/d with every David Caruso line. I can't believe Khandi Alexander (who played Benton's sister) was on CSI: Miami for it's whole run. She is/was too talented for that mess.

Aurora Cormier 01-06-2014 11:00 PM

And the sad thing is you can't even notice her talent AT ALL on that role. I was talking about that tonight, how procedurals like the CSI/NCIS franchise, Criminal Minds and all others seem to kill any acting skill. I mean, look at the guy who plays Mac on CSI:NY, I'd never seen him on anything else, so I just thought he was another Caruso. Then I watched him on Forrest Gump and was like "OMG he *CAN* actually ACT :jaw_drop:"

I'm Not Dead 01-07-2014 04:46 AM

^ :jaw_drop:! But you're right. See, I was already a massive fan of Gary Sinise from things like Forrest Gump and Of Mice And Men, but had never seen CSI: NY until a year or two again (my brother is a fan). I couldn't watch it again because Gary was so clearly phoning in every performance. I get that some actors like the easy job and steady pay cheque, but it's crushing to watch some of your all-time favourite actors in those roles.

Ju, do you still watch CSI? I'm wondering how Ted Danson fits into that show.

Exactly. Her performance during the sixth season (?) of ER when her son is killed was one of the best grief scenes during the show's entire run, IMO. That scream. :bawl:

I'm Not Dead 01-08-2014 08:30 AM

That was an incredible performance. Khandi was always great and funny on NewsRadio, although her role was never as large as I would have liked it to have been.

Pandorama 01-08-2014 10:04 AM

Agreed. She got the shaft. :P

Good to hear!

Doc McGoo's? OMG, for me it was Doc Magoo's too...how did I (we) miss this?

Aw, great that John Wells is being honored!!!

Pandorama 01-21-2014 03:30 PM

Glad Wells is being recognized for the genius he is.

Meanwhile, be wary of any memorabilia that says it has a certificate of authenticity. Those certificates mean diddly-squat (thanks, "Pawn Stars," for teaching me things). Plus, I've seen them attached to autographs on eBay that are so obviously forged it's not even funny.
