I get the movie was about the shark and them surviving it but I wish we had gotten more with her character and backstory. I'm greedy.

Agreed but we still got quite a good amount considering the men were he mains of the movie

True. We did get a fair amount, and Jamie got to shine when she jumped in the water to get that hook so her dad who was injured wouldn't have to do it.
