Hi everyone ,

The Fan Forum Graphics Team is in the process of (re)customising message boards and now it's your turn!

If you have any picture or colour suggestions please post them in this thread. Don't post (hotlink) the pictures, links to them are fine. Make sure that the pictures are of as high quality as possible and that the top of the head of the person in the picture isn't cropped off. We also like to use photoshoot images when possible, preferably individual pictures of each cast member. When suggesting colours please keep in mind that some colours will work better than others. The Team usually tries to avoid really vibrant and dark colours because we have found in the past that they are hard to look at for long periods of time. If you would like some help coming up with colour combinations we recommend checking out the design seeds website. As we want every board to have their own unique look it is preferable that you do not link to the customisations of other boards as suggested colour schemes.

Everyone is encouraged to voice their opinions for this as you are the ones who will be posting on the board and we hope to make as many people happy with the finished result as possible. It does not matter if you are a board moderator, regular poster, or casual poster here. If you have a suggestion, please share it here with us .

Your suggestions for possible pictures and colours will be taken into serious consideration, but in the interest of seeing every board receive the best customised look possible the final decision concerning how this board will be customised will be made by the members of the Graphics Team. This is because we want to make sure that the selected graphic and colours fit into the overall design scheme that we've established for Fan Forum.

For a full explanation of the message board customisation process, see this thread. If you have any questions, please feel free to send Mel, Chelle, or Rora a PM or ask the Team on the message board customisation thread.

Please leave this topped until a week or so after the board has been (re)customised.

Note: It usually takes approximately two weeks for us to finish making the new banner and the sooner we know what you want, the more we can work on it (though it can take a few months or so to set it up with the new colours on the board), so please let us know your suggestions as soon as possible.

When the Team have finished making the graphic I will close this thread until the graphic and colours get put up. It will then be re-opened so that you can share your thoughts about it.

I'm no good at finding images.

For some reason, the first color that comes to mind is brown/tan. I have no idea why I'm picturing a trench coat. Maybe sherlock related. Lol

I always think about red too when picturing a color for RDJ but the GT ask to avoid dark colors and that includes red.

Just minimally.
And from my perspective, those color schemes look fine to me.

As they're kinda muted.

Red is harsh on the eyes more than considered dark as most shades of red are harsh regardless of if they're light, bright, dark, ect. So wherever possible we try to not use it at all, but if we must then very minimally. We also recommend that you think of the actor themselves, not a character they've played, when considering colours.

Does he have any more recent photoshoots or is that the most recent one? I saw on the site one from 2019 but it isn't usable

Winter Tones red shades aren't too harsh, but we'd use the colours very minimally still as we try to avoid using it at all & don't want the board to be harsh. Then personally I don't think Autumn Maker is usable at all as you've got three harsh shades in there with the dark brown/black shade too but it might be. It'd be tricky & risky on if it'd be harsh or not.

If you're thinking brown/tan maybe look at colour schemes which are more warm & have more browns. You could also then look at adding a more red/brown shade if you do have your hearts set on red & I can't talk you out of using it.

Can I suggest these (either adding a red to them or leaving it off):
A Door Hues
Color Wander
Color Collect
Gathered Tones
Rustic Relax (maybe, it is still dark/harsh but I think it'd still be usable)

I do like the Winter Tones. Light bg with some of the darker as accents (kinda like the blue borders here and maybe the darker brown as like link colors).

Of the ones you have, Chelle, I like the A Door Hues.

But I do like the brown/red more for RDJ.

I really like Color Collect and Winter Tones even though, I think that we don;t have to use the red bec it's Iron Man color..

But as someone mentioned about brown color tones, I agree..

Yeah, I try to find the photoshoots, but I can't even remember the last time that he did was during like 3-4 years ago.. I gonna find it..

For Winter Tones you will get a very pale/greyish board. It may also be cold-toned imo. I don't think it'll give you much brown. If you want that, we can work with it

May I suggest something like this:

Obviously it has a lot of colours, so the GT wouldn't use all of them. It also isn't clear what the end result would be as it would all depend on how the colouring of the graphic turned out. But it does combine some of the colouring from the three colour schemes. It is still soft, but gives a little more colour than the Winter Tones would. It also would be a little warmer in tone

I like that one, the one you suggest.. I think that one look great for this board.. But that's true about the brown when I think and try to pic of it..

Even though, I'm okay w/ the color schemes as long I like to see the warmer in this board..

We have now finished making all the graphics and the Graphics Team are going to vote on a winner, so this thread will now be closed until the colours and graphic have been set up - then we will re-open it so you can tell us what you all think!
