Kyle/Liz (Loyalists) #1: The couple in the beginning
 

So to keep Slash and Male/Female pairings at the same number, We added Liz/Kyle and Kyle/Hanson threads.

So this is for everyone who voted for this thread once last year. Post on the loaylist love (You can talk about friendship too, there's no stop)

For the record -- I happen to think that Liz and Kyle make a very cute couple. Some of their scenes together -- for example in "Ch-ch-ch-changes," were quite good -- one could really imagine them together. :blush:

...and I never believed that crap Liz told Max about having to hold Kyle's head while he puked after a beer-party :no: -- she just made that up to make Max feel superior. :nod:

LIZ: Max...everything that we did, everything we felt...was it...was it all just about this...this thing? You know, we don't even know what it is.

MAX: Yet.

LIZ: Max, was it ever just about us? You and me? Because a person could feel like they just served their purpose. You know, like being used.

MAX: Is that what you think? Because you're not the only one who could worry about being used. I mean, some girls would give a lot to see themselves fly through outer space. You know, I'm sure it doesn't compare to other things you could be doing, like watching Kyle barf after a beer blast.

LIZ: I can't believe you just said that.

MAX: Why not?

LIZ: Because it really happened.

MAX: You're kidding me.

LIZ: No. I swear. Last summer. It was a really hot night...

MAX: You know what? No, no...don't tell me.

LIZ: Ok, so what you're saying is that you saved me from a life of watching Kyle barf.

MAX: Liz Parker...I don't think that was ever gonna be your destiny.

Personally, I believe that was just a rumor or a 'little white lie' which caught up with Liz and she pretended it was true just to convince Max she liked him better than she liked Kyle. It was never true! :nono:

Hmm..well, I don't know. Liz usually doesn't lie.

She really did sleep with Kyle...
She really was into drugs like she told Alex...
She really didn't go to Las Cruces to look for aliens (Like she told Michael she wasn't)
She really didn't sneak out of the house after her parents forbade it...
She really didn't tell Maria all about Max being an Alien after she promised not to...

Need I go on (and on, and on...)

And that doesn't even touch the fact the she has a history of "breaking and entering!"

She does have somewhat of a checkered history now you put it that way :D

That bit about watching Kyle barf was because they had to make him the evil ex, like all teen TV shows do. :rolleyes:

Exactly. But then when he was done being a threat, he could go back to being nice.

Abd then he found Buddhism and became a peacefull friend for Liz. Hmm..and then he pretented that he slept with her and Max stopped trusting him..

As if he ever trusted him in the first place...

Yeah, well. That made him more un-trusted.

Liz and Kyle needed to have more air time together, I thought, especially in season 2... i would have loved to see how their friendship grew/strenghtened that year.

Well, S2 was Kyle/Liz in the End of the world. No where else though. Or wait...maybe the Wipe out scene when Liz and Kyle check the computer for what's causing people disappearing..

Yah, and those are the only two times where you really got to see them interacting... Well, there was sort of a sense in Departure, but they needed to have more air time together!

I didn't even know we had this thread :lol: So I'm unburying it...

I actually liked Kyle/Liz paired off...but then, I think there friendship was much better (especially in S3 when she was developing her powers)

:lol: I didn't really like them together as a couple. But, I can see them as friends. Of course I still have Liz issues. :blush:

They are closer in size to each other than Max/Liz or Max/Kyle. :) The Kyle/Liz incident in the Pilot -- where Liz pretends to have feelings for Kyle and kisses him just to get him to unwittingly be a part in their plot -- is what gave me Liz issues from the very beginning.

Actually, this was out-of-character with the person the writers developed later in the series, even though Liz remained devious and untrustworthy.

Anyway -- they looked good together... I wouldn't have minded if Liz and Kyle had stayed a couple a little longer and Kyle and Max could have been true rivals. There was not time in the series for a true rivalry to develop. Can you imagine -- Max and Kyle rivals for Liz and at the same time, Liz and Max rivals for Kyle and Lize and Kyle rivals for Max. Boggles the mind! :spineyes:

I would have liked to see Liz and Kyle together longer- it would have been more highschoolish, :lol: if that makes sense to anyone else but me!

I really like them together!!
