I bet Tom was a little lonely growing up. He seems like an only child that was constantly trying to impress his genius dad. That can definitely take a toll.

Aw as an only child it can be lonely. I imagine it's even worse if you don't have a good relationship with your parents like Tom does.

Yeah it seems really tough. I'm glad we'll get to see his dad at least for a little bit before he disappears. His mom is also a series regular...so it'll be interesting to see that relationship up close.

I'm guessing he's much more emotionally transparent with his mother? Because it sems like he needs to put on a certain facade with his dad.

I feel like he is generally more open with his mom.

I feel like that's generally how things are-if you have a bad relationship with one parent you have a really good relationship with the other. I feel like he's closer to his mom and I'm excited to see that.
