Hi girls,

terribly sorry for the delay, but now I have some time on my hands, so here you go:

What's your favourite thing about yourself?

There would be a few things, but if I had to pick one, it'd be being able to laugh at myself and not take minor mistakes as the end of the world. Due to my dyslexia, I do not have the best coordination and I would often trip, hit or drop things even if that is supposingly is not possible. When I was younger and didn't know that this was due to my dyslexia, I judged myself for being clumsy and would beat myself up too much over it but these days I have realised that this is better to be taken with a sense of humour (and Michael is even worse than me, which means that no problems there )

Is there anything you wish you could change about yourself?

The only thing I can think of is to somehow manage the will to exercise just like I have no problem working behind the computer for hours, if needed and stay concentrated. I know that is also probably linked to my not so well developed motoric skills but I should just figure out a way to keep the will to exercise. I would start and after a few weeks, I'd be sitting all the time just like before.

First childhood memory you have?

This is actually a funny one. I must've been 3 or 4 and back then we lived at the Slovenian coast. There was a promenade right by the sea where all kind of posh tourists would show off with their clothing, jewels etc. They weren't, however, able to drop their cigarette left-overs in the bins provided (and there were many of them). So I remember once walking there with my parents, picking up the cigarettes on the floor with my bare hands, as if collecting them, and then placing them into the bins. My mum later told me (I don't remember that part) that some ladies would call her an inconsiderate and irresponsible mother for allowing her child to pick up things from the floor (even though it should've been the responsibility of the adults to throw their smoked cigarettes in the bin ) and my mum just told her that at least I cared for the environment ;) She never made a fuss over it and indeed, there was never a problem, she just washed my hands afterwards.

Favourite song ever?

Oh, there would be a couple, my all-time favourite, however, Moon river from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's - sung by Audrey Hepburn (and later on, which made me very happy, also by Mark Feehily ;))

The one word you use very often?

As you've probably noticed, I love the word "but", that it's almost turned into a nuisance. In Slovenian, I had to get rid of using "yet" in most sentences when I would speak... :D

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Friendly, considerate, hard-working

Five things you don't leave your house without?

My wallet, cell phone, my keys, my driver's licence and during summer, my sunscreen and hat

If you could have some superpower for a day, which one would you want to have, and how would you use it?

Lol, I just thought of how I would want to have the power to read other people's minds. I'd really want to enter Greg's head, it must be a total mess

Seriously though, I'd love to be able to use telekinesis (I think that's the right word), that you are able to dematerialise yourself and then materialise yourself in some other place. That way I wouldn't have to travel and I could also do something good for the locals and meet a lot of people.

The one thing you would never want to change about yourself?

My ability to empathise with others, that is something I am very proud of

What would you do of you knew that you were to die tomorrow?

Eat loads of chocolate (no worries over getting too fat ) and lie on Strandhill beach with my loved ones, listening to the sound of the waves and My love on my mp3 player...

Cheesy, I know

Your idea of a perfect date?

For me a perfect date is if it is not planned in advance at all, because something can always go "wrong" if you are trying to make it perfect and the evening can be ruined over a tiny little thing.

Your idea of a perfect man?

From my previous relationship, I learnt what my perfect man isn't and what I would want in a guy. For me, the guy for me is mostly someone I can trust, someone who is also willing to criticise my behaviour and listen to mine about him, if something is bothering either of us, instead of bottling it all up inside. It is also someone with a great sense of humour, who is willing to accept that his opinions might not be right. It is also someone who is willing to accept my limitations which are a consequence of my dyslexia (that is, not to constantly criticise me over my clumsiness which I have decreased immensely after starting to take it with humour, but see it as something that is distinctively mine) and try to work with me to overcome them. And most of all, someone who is willing to take their share of responsibility in the relationship, to also make an effort and not just let me do all the work, while lying on the couch and reading his newspaper. I think Michael pretty much fits that description.

The one thing in your life (so far) that you regret doing?

What I definitely regret is having stayed with Greg for so long that I did. Our relationship was dead long ago before he ended it and I refused to see it, probably out of fear that nobody would ever come along, if I was to let him go. But in the end, I don't know how my life would've turned out otherwise and if I would've had met Michael, had I broken up with Greg myself.

The regret is probably more in the fact of refusing to see reality for what it is and to stand up for myself and knowing that I deserve better, not the relationship itself. That I wouldn't take back, it was a valuable lesson that I needed and I learnt a lot about myself and how I didn't need a man to be happy but that I needed to be happy within myself first and that was the only thing that ultimately matters. A partner is someone who increases that happiness, but it not someone on whom your happiness ultimately depends, it's just placing your life in someone else's hands - which never ends well imo.

What are you most proud about achieving in your life so far?

I am very proud of having been able to make a living for myself. When I was younger, my mum had to do everything for me, I was even too shy to pick up the phone to ring someone or buy my ice cream for myself, without my dad ordering for me. So I think that it's pretty much a great achievement, that I've managed to find most of my clients on my own, even though my mum introduced me to the first person I started working with (but in this business, it's hard to start without some connections). I find it great that I managed to start from that and to earn rather well, especially if I compare myself to other people my age or most working people in Slovenia, who work just as hard or even harder, but must survive on 400 euros a month, some retired people even on as little as 300 euros per month.

The best advice someone's given to you?

That would actually be Jen's, when she once told me that your decisions should be based on what you want and not just to try and please others. And my mum's when she told me – after I complained that I never get to speak with a talkative mother like her – that if I want to talk, I should open my mouth first.

A day you would give anything to live all over again?

When I met the Dalai Lama and unexpectedly shook hands with him, that was lovely. I would have erased Greg from the picture this time though ;)

Chase.This.Light 08-27-2009 02:10 PM

What would you want more, a F*R*I*E*N*D*S reunion movie, or a DC one?
What are your top 5 ships.
Who is better Jason Bourne, James Bond or Jack Bauer (I think I know the answer).

Black mamba 08-29-2009 07:22 AM

Oh, a lot of questions already! (Sorry to reply only now btw!) I have to say that for the most "what's you fave.." I won't be able to choose just one :P

What's your favourite:
Colour
: Blue. (It used to be green though when I was a kid, but only a particular kind of green lol Which I still love actually)

Flower: I don't have one particular fave one :look:

Movie: Oh there's a lot I really love, I'll name some of them I have in mind now: The Matrix, Notting Hill (I named this one but I basically love every Julia Roberts' movie), Face Off, As Good As It Gets, Kill Bill, The Notebook... And I know there's some others that I put in my fave ones but I just don't have them in mind right and like that my list isn't too long lol

Song: Choosing one fave song is seriously too hard, it's hard enough to choose one from each singers I love lol So again, I will just name some but there's actually more :P There's: S'il Suffisait D'aimer, Because You Love Me - Celine Dion, I Got The Feeling - James Brown, Thank God I Found You - Mariah Carey feat.Joe (mainly because it always remind a lot of great memories when I listen to it now from back when the song came out), Remember The Time - M. Jackson, How To Save A Life - The Fray, Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol..

Book: I don't think I have a particular one, it actually often changed depending on the last one I read lol

What was the last book you read? Pride And Prejudice - Jane Austen (it wasn't the first time I read it though)

Do you have brothers/sisters? Yep, a big brother

Do you have a pet? I do, I have a cat :)

What's your fav Michael Jackson Song? Aw, again like I could choose just one :P Some of my fave are: Remember The Time, Smooth Criminal, Billie Jean, Heal The World, Wanna Be Startin' Somethin', Triller, Will You Be There...

Fav Whitney song? I Will Always Love You, Exhale, I Have Nothing, My Love Is Your Love, I Learned From The Best, My Heart Is Calling.. and I have few more faves but I'll stop here. And lately I've been more listening to her new songs so that might add few others in my fave ones lol

What was your best birthday ever? Hm, I don't know, for the last few years my birthday was always during exams so it was no fun lol But I might choose my 10th birthday, it was pretty cool, I was with all of my best friends and my parents had organized this party at McDonalds with all of us (back then it was pretty great for me to go there lol), and we had a lot of fun, playing game, having food fight etc.. :D I also loved my 18th birthday mainly because I really got a lot of presents that day!

Best holiday ever? I have good memories from a lot of my holidays, but I think I will mention the one I had after I graduated from high school. First of all it was great because I have this kind of "free feeling" I just had my graduation and didn't have much worries about the next year (even though it was going to be all new to go to University but some of my friends were going at the same uni too so that was cool), and plus I had 3 months of holidays (usually had only 2 with high school) and then it was mainly great because not only I went on vacation for a month in august where I always go every year (the one I posted a pic of in the OT thread her two weeks ago), but after that I also left again for about 12 days in september, my godmother had invited me to go on vacation in Greece which was pretty cool :D It's beautiful there and I had a really great time! :sigh:

Where would you most like to go for holidays? Hm, I have two things in mind, the problem is that I'm not sure if I will name the first one the right way in english lol So I looked into my dictionnary but I'm really not sure the translation will give you the right name anyway it's translate as the "west indies" or "French antilles" :sigh: (my father is born there, in "Guadeloupe"), here's a little pic from a part of a map to show you where it is if the translation isn't right lol (it's the islands on the right).
And the other place I would also love to go for vacations is the USA, whenever it's LA, NY.. there's few cities I would really like to be able to visit there :sigh:

What's your fav word in English? Fave word? That's something I never thought about  Hm, I don't know (there I'm saying it again already lol) may be "unagi"? Okay, it's from Friends and I don't even know if it's actually a real word in english but I love it and often say it! :D

In French? Hm, for this one I will really have to say I don't know lol I just don't think I have a particular fave french word, sorry.

What would you want more, a F*R*I*E*N*D*S reunion movie, or a DC one? Hm, that's hard to say. I love Friends more than DC but I've never been sure about wanting a reunion (especially a movie), the final was so great that I don't want to ruin it, but I also miss them so... And as for DC, a reunion could be nice too but there's some stuff I might not be happy to see, so I would be glad to see them all again but I could not enjoy it fully depending on the script/storylines. So to give an answer, simply because this is my fave show, I think I would like a Friends reunion more but probably not as a movie though, but may be some kind of long thanksgiving episode.

What are your top 5 ships? Hm, without any order I'll say: Ross and Rachel (Friends), Angel and Buffy (BTVS), Dawson and Joey (DC), Brandon and Kelly (BH90210), Dylan and Brenda (BH90210). And I know you said top 5 but I need to at least to add just a couple more of my fave ship :P Lois and Clark (LnCTNAOS), Chris and Rita (Silk Stalkings). (The first 3 ships I mentioned are for sure in my top 3 though)

Who is better Jason Bourne, James Bond or Jack Bauer? (I think I know the answer) I don't especially care about James Bond and I do love Jason Bourne a lot but Jack Bauer/Kiefer seriously owns me :sigh: He's just too awesome! :in_love: Is it the answer you thought I was gonna say? :P lol

JenMixelle 08-29-2009 01:25 PM

 Mel, that wasn't too many "I don't know"s.

What concerts have you been to?
Who would you like to see perform (even if you had already)?
Do you speak any other languages besides French & English?
What used to be your fav subject in school?
Which subject did you hate most?

I think my fave Whitney song may be between Where Do Broken Hearts Go and Didn't We Almost Have It All. And I love Thank God I Found You by Mariah!

I've heard of the West Indies and the French Antilles. I think sometimes you don't give yourself credit for your English. My french is well, pretty much non-existant. As my younger sister put it, I took french at school I didn't learn it.

We have a lot of ships in common, the only one I don't share/know of is Chris and Rita.

LOL Let's hope I will be able to keep it that way :P

What concerts have you been to? I've never been to famous singers concert so I don't even need to give names 'cause you guys won't know them lol (Some I can't even remember their name lol)

Who would you like to see perform (even if you had already)? I actually never really mind to not see singers live, even those I love, but there's still three ones that I would really like to see perform though. Well, first of all I would have really loved to see Michael Jackson, his performance were always so amazing :thud: Unfortunately I will never get that chance now :( Other than him, I would like to see Celine Dion and Whitney Houston. :sigh:
Of course I will probably enjoy and love seeing the others singers/band I like perform too but like I said it's not like something I especially want, but these three (well now two) are the ones I would definitely would like to see

Do you speak any other languages besides French & English? No. I learned some spanish back in high school but I forget all about it

What used to be your fav subject in school? French (and like you guys know I'm french so it's like english classes for english people lol I'm just saying this to be sure so there's no confusion with a classes where we atually learn how to speak a language lol). And not that it's a main subject in school but I also love drawing classes and the sport ones too.

Which subject did you hate most? Mathematics  I really sucked at it :P

What shade of blue and what's the shade of green you still love?
I don't really have a particular fave shade of blue, basically just not too light and not too dark either  As for the green I won't know how to describe it because like I said it was a particular one, it was the same one as I had in my felt-tip pen lol I think it's a bit close to the green on that smiley: :D but not that bright (not that it is really bright here but it's just not exactly that green lol I told you I couldn't describe it )

What's the cats name?
Lisette. I came up with the name back then, we thought we could have a name close to the one my grandmother had (from my mother side, she passed away when I was just a little kid), her name was Louise, so at some point we thought about Louisette and then somehow I came up with Lisette lol And yeah I know, that was a totally random story :P

I love those two songs too :sigh: I used to listen to Thank God I Found You so much back then, I really loved it, well and still love it today since I put it in my fave songs lol but like I said now it also really remind me of that year and it was a great one so I always smile listening to that song now because of the memories it brings back to me  I love when a song does that :sigh:

Oh good, then! I first thought about French Antilles but wasn't sure so I looked into my dictionary but still wasn't sure since it's not always the best way to translate things lol And thanks, I'm glad if you think my english is good, I'm just not always sure to write it well, I mean I probably make a lot of mistakes that I don't notice anyway :P But as long as everyone understand me, then that's good!
lol I know what you mean about taking a language class and not learn it well, like I said I did the same as you but with spanish lol

We have great taste then :high_five: Yeah, I knew most of you won't know Chris and Rita, since the show they were in is itself kinda old now and not that famous either I think, but that's a show I used to watch when I was a kid/teenager and even though it's really not a show I would put into my fave one (it's just a show that I enjoy watching when it was on), I still ended up loving Chris and Rita so much! I really loved the dynamic between them, they were two cops, partners and best friend, they were close and adorable and you know there was this all teasing, tension going on sometimes. Anyway I'm not gonna start (or actually continue) to describe them or why I love them cause I know myself when I start to ramble about a couple I love, it could just go on and on  I would just add that they broke my heart because they killed Chris at the end (both actors wanted to leave the show) when they have just finally got together few episode before :bawl:

Hehe :D

Chase.This.Light 08-29-2009 05:16 PM

Okay - Chris and Rita - totally heartbreaking.

Celine Dion is great in concert. I saw her about a year or two after Titanic and My Heart Will Go On, I think it might have been the "Let's Talk About Love" tour in Edinburgh and people left when she went off stage even though she would do an encore, she hadn't even sung My Heart Will Go On yet!!

Do you watch Eurovision?
If you were to have a superpower what would it be?
