Man, it's like something from an H.P. Lovecraft story, where society starts going nuts and people start going psycho and commit mass acts of violence. No, I don't think that Cthulhu is gonna rise from the ocean, but I do think that Lovecraft had a point about these periods of seeming mass paranoia, psychosis, and hysteria.

America's certainly going nuts, and much of the rest of the world too (Brexit comes to mind). Gun control needs to brought in in America. Most other Western countries don't have the guns and don't have the shootings. It seems America has umpteen nutso shootings a year. It's got to stop.

That would be good. Even better would be abolishing the 2nd amendment entirely. Alas, that will never happen. My views on guns in America have shifted sharply to the left in recent years and I now view the NRA as being somewhat on the level of the KKK. One major factor in shaping my views was seeing videoes at the time of the 2016 election in which thuggish types in backwoods America were gathering into armed militias to defend their guns against Hillary. The sheer reactionary bull**** level of that wore out my patience entirely. Apparently the majority of privately owned guns in America are owned by a small proportion of the population. It's not that Americans generally have guns. It's that a minority of Americans are armed to the teeth and generally nuts.

Well, I don't think they'll ever ban guns or repeal the 2nd amendment, but there are certainly things they can do better regarding gun control and restricting certain types of weaponry.
