I'd say Harrison's heyday was from Star Wars (1977) to about 20 years later, when The Devil's Own showed him starting up the cranky persona. He's done a lot of good work since then, but hasn't been as glorious as it was before.

Well, for me his heyday was Star Wars to Clear and Present Danger. I think he overextended himself.

That's 3 years earlier. Cuts off too much.

Oh, yeah. Air Force One came out in 1997.

It did. Better than The Devil's Own. Air Force One is not a favourite of mine, though. The highlight of The Devil's Own was Natascha McElhone. Neither Harrison nor Brad were at their best.

That's what I heard. But I think after Air Force One, Harrison began to over-extend himself. Everything between Raiders and Air Force One was the height of his career.

Over extending himself wasn't the problem at all. His performances just got a lot grimmer.

Maybe because he was getting too old to play the cheery roles he once did in the 1970s and 1980s?

He wasn't all that cheery back then and nothing says an old person can't be cheery.
