Knots Landing was a spinoff of Dallas. It was centered on JR and Bobby Ewing's brother, Gary Ewing, who was the middle child. Gary never fit in to the Ewing oil business, so his mother, Ellie Ewing, gave Gary and his wife got some money and they moved out of Southfork Ranch in Dallas to a house in a Los Angeles suburb called Knots Landing. Knots Landing was actually about as popular as Dallas was in the 1980s.

Hardcastle & McCormick

Pure 1980s adrenaline.

DRIVE!
Push it to the floor 'till the engine screams.

DRIVE!
Drivin' like the demon that drives your dreams.

You're on a hard road, nobody cares,
if you hit the breaks.
You've got to think fast, keep it in gear,
one slip is all it takes.
You gotta keep your wheels on the straight and narrow,
if you wanna survive.

Slow-motion man,
iron and steel in the palm of your hand.
High flyin' heart,
bettin' your life on the state of the art.
Lay down the law,
don't you let 'em cross the line,
under the hood got the bad and the good,
everybody's doin' time.

DRIVE!
Push it to the floor 'till the engine screams.

DRIVE!
Drivin' like the demon that drives your dreams.

DRIVE!

I wish you did as well. JR and Bobby often guest starred on Knots Landing, and Gary showed up on Dallas occasionally, like when Jock Ewing died and his will was read to his family. Gary got a generous sum, but Jock left Ewing Oil to JR and Bobby to fight over who would control it.

Watched Birds of Prey. It was ok. I enjoyed Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Mary Elizabeth Winstead's performances. I think the film would have been better without Harley Quinn, though. Margot Robbie is a good actress, but her schtick is getting a little old. Also, did the film have to have every single male be an arsehole? That struck me as a little childish.

The reason that every man was portrayed negatively was because this movie wasn't created for sheer storytelling purposes, it was a piece of virtue-signaling post #metoo garbage.

Jurnee Smollett-Bell looks nothing like Black Canary and I'll leave it at that. I don't believe in race-switching characters for any reason... any reason. None of it is justified.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead also didn't really resemble the Huntress either. Where were the costumes? No one looked like superheroes, they looked like a street gang. Not having Barbara Gordon as Batgirl was unforgivable. And Harley Quinn being in the movie was just stupid. She's a villain allied with the Joker, the Birds of Prey are superheroes allied with Batman. This was just a vanity project for Margot Robbie, who is really annoying the hell out of me.

Simon & Simon

Another 80s classic about two brothers who are private detectives in San Diego.
