how do you do that color-ish thing and the white-ish part in the middle ?
I'm not sure what you are talking about? Do you mean how do you get it so that the colors change into one and other, like a rainbow? Is that what you mean?

If so go to "Retouch" and then to your Tool Options Palette and change your settings to "Hue Up" or "Hue Down" mess around with size, opacity till you get the effect you'd like.

Based on the way the colors are placed, I'm guessing Joie took a stock picture, blurred it, and then set the layer to color. As for the white part... looks like she just deleted parts of the picture.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to do the boxes, blending and the placing of boxes/strips and pics of art by Thia? I'm using Photoshop 7.

That's mostly just her own creativity. You pick some pictures out and blend them together and crop images different ways. She uses the shape tool a lot and changes the opacity and color. She also uses stock photos.

hm, alright. So sometimes when I open a document in Adobe PS, there's two gray boxes in the corner -- one with 01 in it and the other with something that looks like an envelope. anyways, sometimes it's there, sometime it isn't, but when it is there, it's a friggin' nuisance, especially when I'm making something small, like an icon, so if anybody could tell me how to MAKE IT GO AWAY RIGHT NOW PLZ KTHXBAI [lumbergh]that would be greeeeeeeeat.[/lumbergh]

It has to do with slices. Go to View-> Show and make sure that "Slices" is unchecked.

How can I get those poloroid pictures in a fan art? Y'know what I mean? I guess it's more like small frames that looks like poloroid frames.... are the brushes?

What I usually do is take the image I want in the polaroid, stick it on a blank white canvas, resize it so it sits in the middle of this canvas and flatten the image. I then take my square marquee tool and make the shape of the "white" part of the polaroid around my image. I press ctrl C to copy and I paste it onto my working canvas (the art where you want your polaroid to go). I add a drop shadow for effect.

Take your square marquee tool and select around your image. Right click and hit free transform. Play around with it until it stretches to your specifications. As to how to get the weathered look, I would suggest you take your eraser tool and select a grunge tipped brush and start stamping around your image to make the creases and fades and such. If your image fades back too much, just hit "duplicate layer."

Add new layer. Then select your eraser... in the "Tool Options Palette" mess with the settings. It's best to Click on "Build up Brush" and put your Step to "1".
I'd lower my opacity and hardness (probably from 30-60ish). I'd keep my density at '100". And make the brush as Large or as Small as the picture you need.
Then go to the overlapped picture and slowly click by click remove what you what you want so it blends into the next picture.
You might also want to go to the Curser and Tablet Options under the "Tool Options Palette" and mess with that. I normally click on the "Use Precise Censors" and "show brush outline"
Was that for PSP or PS?

This question might sound a little dumb, but I'm just gonna go ahead and ask it anyway because I can't figure it out. I'm using the program PSP8 and I have no idea how to upload brushes/filters from different websites onto the program. I've tried everything I can think of, but I still haven't figured out how to. If somebody could help me, I'd really appreciate it.
