Hey, all! Not sure if this is the right thread to ask, but I'll give it a shot:

So I'm going to attempt my hand as some character aesthetic photosets/picspams. However, what I am wonder is: if I get images off of WeHeartIt/Pinterest, is there a certain amount of change allowed or do I need to give credit to the original photographer (provided I can find that out). I'm not sure how fanartists tend to deal with the copyright stuff for those kinds of things. I'd be using about six images per set.

When I make them I always take pictures from WeHeartIt or Pinterest, because if I got it this right. It is okay to use the images from there for edits without giving credit as long you don't claim the pictures as yours. So I think it will be fine. Also I follow lots of people on tumblr who never write credits to each images that they've used and they are all using Pinterest to find the pictures.

It's basically like Jessica said, if it's a picture from those sites I'm pretty sure that credit is not necessary, unless if the picture is worked as a fan art (coloring/texture/blend/text), in that case we ask as a courtesy that credits are given
