Omar Rudberg (aka Simon from Young Royals) has released a new song!



Omar Rudberg is a singer and an actor. He is the former member of the succesfull swedish boyband FO&O (also known as The Fooo Conspiracy) and made a his debut as an actor playing Simon in the Netflix series "Young Royals".

He has released a new song and music video today.



He also performed it live for the first time today.


He'll be participating in Melodifestivalen next month in the hopes of being voted to represent Sweden on Eurovision. Fingers crossed for the new pop royalty!!!

Thanks for the news. I'm excited for him to see it doing so well for him.

I hope he won't be to stressed when he will participating in Melodifestivalen as I think the filming of season 2 is in the same month.

Yeah, and Melodifestivalen is for 6 weeks. 4 weeks to hear all the songs. One week is the semi-final and one week for the actually final. It is a intense schedule with first learning the scene, where all the cameras are and how they will move on the stage etc. Each week there will be two that gets the most votes. They will go to the final immediately and the two who ends up at 3rd and 4th place will be in the semifinal to "fight" for the last four places in the final. So if he ends up going to the semifinal, he needs to be on the move for three weeks as all these "episodes" will air on different places around Sweden. (The final is always in Stockholm).

oh wow that sounds interesting. I hope he does well. but if they are always on the move I hope it doesnt effect filming for young royals. or maybe he will have less scenes while he is doing that ?

Yeah, I hope so too. He is in the first show with six others. So it might not be to intense for him as he will have few weeks break before the semi final and/or the finale. (That is if he get enough votes in the first show of course).

Because of covid, they moved all the shows to Stockholm for this year. So he was in Stockholm yesterday to perform his song. He didn't make it to the final or the semi final. I think it had to do with the app didn't work with the voting. I think most of his fans would have voted in there instead as it was for free. I'm very sure the result would have been different if the app would have worked.

I thought it was a okay song. It wasn't terrible but nothing I would send to ESC as it sounds like most songs we have done with a young guy.
