Right now they are currently shooting for the final season of the show and have not wrapped yet.

Yes they are shooting the final season, the 6th. I think it's okay because the show is expensive to do and we don't need to see the Queen's death on the show.

That's because you don't watch the show. There's also only so much drama they can tell and the show deals with real people so it's not ideal to have more seasons of this show and it needs to end at one point. I'm happy they announced S6 as the last and didn't cancel the show on a whim.
