I really should read the books, I'm interested on where they'd take the story especially since they kind of left it as they have a story in mind already.

and yeah that is very true, it was an very open ending , so it does seem like they have a story in mind for season 2

"The series takes place over 350 years in the future,[4][5] in the year 2384.
In the future, a person's memories can be decanted in a disk-shaped device called a cortical stack, which is implanted in the vertebrae at the back of the neck.

These storage devices are of alien design and have been reverse engineered and mass produced. Physical human or synthetic bodies called "sleeves" are used as vessels that can accept any stack. Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman), a political operative with mercenary skills, wakes up 250 years after his previous sleeve is terminated. He is given the choice to either spend the rest of time in prison for his crimes, or to help solve the murder of Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy), one of the wealthiest men in the settled worlds. Thanks for the description! I should have read it before I watched the first episode because I was a bit confused. BTW, are they still on earth? I was confused about Takeshi asking what planet he was on and there were some other things that made it seem like it isn't earth. Maybe I missed something?

Okay.. I just finished this show in like 2 days and WOW I LOVED it!!! So need to rewatch it because I'm sure I missed important details in the first few episodes, but really interesting story
