Oh, my.

My sister lives in the middle of nowhere and I live with my dad in the city - dad always tells her to hit the deer if she has to - especially when she drives back at night - and not swerve to prevent the impact. He notes the deer or any other large animal would do more damage than hitting a ditch or worse. I live in place with a lot deer - even in the city.

I always remember his advice. He'd rather me be alive than my car be damaged. Cars can be replaced - I can't.

There are a lot of deers on the way to work and once actually hit one. It was NOT pretty. Not for my car, definitely not the deer. But yes swerving is the worst thing you can do.

Wild boar was definitely something new for me. Made the stop just in time.
