Also, I don't think he likes to do publicity much, so you don't often see interviews with him. |
Thank you

How is it possible that Bobby's thread is stuck on the 2nd page? The man has almost 89, 000 followers, lol.
Some of the people with forums here are really.............I just have to ask why? Bobby is a GREAT actor and a GREAT person. He deserves his own forum. Ok, I have seen: Go Now, the Mighty Celt, Summer, ONCE..... most of Hamish. Still to watch (DVDs I have): SGU, Priest, Plunkett & MacLeane, Monroe Class of 76. I don't know why I haven't finished Hamish yet, but I LOVE it. God, it's such a brilliant series, full of heart, humor and real emotion. Bobby is incomprehensibly adorable .......Funnily, after I watched one episode of Hamish, I have never had an issue with Bobby's accent. He has a very thick brogue, but listening to him talk just accomodated me to it and now I have no problem understanding him. Brief reviews: Go Now? Oh my god, if you think Bobby is brilliant now, then watch this and be astounded. He plays an ordinary guy struck down with MS - and he is just phenomenal in his portrayal. Your heart will break. It's only on VHS, but it's totally worth buying. The Mighty Celt: this is an wonderful little movie.......really touching. Bobby is wonderful yet again. Summer : Bobby believes this is his best performance and adores this little-seen gem. I can't blame him. First of all, it's a gloriously wonderful movie about love and friendship. I am a sucker for tv or films that focus on how beautiful childhood friendship can be and that's a huge part of this. Bobby plays yet again an ordinary fellow, a man whose life has fallen apart and what's holding him together is taking care of his seriously ill friend. I'll take more below about Bobby and his performances. California Solo Of course this is still in theaters, but I recommend this highly.. It's a wonderful, quirky little film - almost more of a personality study, slice of life, than an ordinary film. Bobby is brilliant; he runs the gamut of emotions here and he IS the film. OK -my thoughts on Bobby as an actor. I have never seen any of his violent roles except for the famous Cracker episode. I've seen a clip of Trainspotting and that was quite enough, lol; I can't handle violence and blood. That said, in just that short clip, you can see how utterly committed Bobby is for his Begbie is truly scary, wow. Bobby is so great at playing ordinary characters, regular decent people. I think that's harder to do than playing glitzy, over the top characters. What Bobby does is inhabit his characters so that he is not acting, he's LIVING that person - he BECOMES that person. His ability to portray a range of emotions is astonishing - as is his ability to wring every last bit of emotion from you. He's SO emotionally honest and genuine.....and those eyes, they are so soulful and expressive. Bobby makes me cry real tears because he feels so much on screen, so honestly. I'm glad he does indie films because honestly? As great as I'm sure he'd be as a "movie star", he'd be completely wasted in crappy action movies where the characters are void of any real human characteristics. Also, Bobby is a GREAT kisser and he's extraordinary in love scenes...probably because of his incredible ability to connect emotionally. I'm SO glad Skin Deep happened because he would be absolutely wasted not having a love interest; this man was MADE to play romance - no, make that real love, not just romance. We can see in ONCE just how beautiful he portrays a man in love...... |
Great post BetsyBelle I really must watch summer if you haven't already seen I you should watch the ballroom dancing film it is a really nice film hat me in tears of sadness and laughter
This is probably a crazy question as we are probably all here because of Rumple but do you guys like him best with Long or short hair I find myself slightly disappointed when he has short hair in a film |

I love it, it's really quirky and funny. A little bit bloody (people getting shot and... other things), but then it is a kind of gangster black comedy thing. |

I think it's usually 6 months or so after it opened theatrically. Google says that it's going to be released in the US on March 5th 2013. No info on any other region releases yet... Quote:
Hey, would any of you guys be interested in watching a livestream of some of his stuff? |
