I feel honored to take the blame
Yes, I am in the middle of a re-read. Halfway through Dreamfever. Gosh, I had a question last night while reading, now I can't remember what it was. May need to go over some pages and see if it comes to me. April, your copy of Burned has been shipped, so whether you want to re-read it with that, or go with the ebook. ETA: Oh yes! When Barrons comes to the Abbey and he and Mac see each other for the first time since she "woke up" , Quote:

Good question. And I feel like I have the answer on the tip of my tongue but can't actually form it into words.
Wait... He never wanted her to be like him. Where we learned that it wasn't necessary the whole case but he hated the pink girly Mac. He wanted to tough her up. But I think he loved the part of her that still saw good in the world. He wanted her to still keep a part of that rainbow girl but be able to survive in the world. But I feel like it's more than that. I think no matter how much she is able to survive, I don't think she could survive without Barrons completely. And he knows this. But he doesn't want her to realize this and hold it against him? Or for her to think/feel like that he has to have control over her? Only thing that comes to my mind. __________________

Yeah, that could be it.
I know he wouldn't want her exactly like him. Yes, he wanted her to toughen up a bit, but not go completely dark, but still remain some of that goodness, because if neither one of them had that -- what use will be world be when trying to save it? He liked part of the pink her, which is why he kept that dress, that colourful one, or skirt? she wore to Malluce's? It was mentioned in Shadowfever how he still has it and that its like a wet dream It was during that scene when she tried to open up the lake, and basically when he told her he loved her. |
