Bomb Girls is a Canadian drama set in a munitions factory during World War II. Set in the 1940s, Bomb Girls tells the remarkable stories of the women who risked their lives in a munitions factory building bombs for the Allied forces fighting on the European front. The series delves into the lives of these exceptional women from all walks of life - peers, friends and rivals - who find themselves thrust into new worlds and changed profoundly as they are liberated from their home and social restrictions.

The six-part miniseries began airing in January 2012 and has recently been confirmed for a second season. The show focuses on four women: fiery rich girl Gladys, who's looking to escape her crushing social expectations; gentle, honey-voiced Kate who lands in Toronto on a raft of secrets; tough-talking Betty, who's finally found a place where she belongs; and the gritty matron Lorna, whose heart blossoms through the power of work and unforeseen romance. The women form an unexpected kinship, while contending with the fathers, brothers, coworkers and suitors who are also facing various struggles (and advantages) of staying home.
