Who said we learn anything from shows, right?! That's like "Paranoid class 101"
But yeah, I do like cop/crime shows, so I'm biased

I used to watch a lot of medical dramas before but I got sick and tired of them lately. My fave genre is still true crime and sci-fi/fantasy.

To me it's Sci-Fi/Fantasy and then those first responder shows (if it has cops, paramedics or firefighters, count me in )

As for medical dramas, I also got tired of them... I think there's way too much focus on romance in them so I ended up getting bored after a few seasons

Yep, some medical dramas are good but like you said the ones that focus too much on romance just irks me. The Good Doctor is a good TV show but I have no time to catch up on it now plus I know the show has also veered towards romance too.

^ Same!!! I like the Good Doctor a lot, but I'm a few seasons behind which probably means I'll only catch up once the show is finished for good... but from what I've seen in promos they have focused a lot on romance lately

Also as a doctor yourself, and I know some of the things they do at those TV shows are made for TV drama, some of it must have irked you because surely they can't get everything right when they do these TV shows.

Honestly I don't mind the non-accurate things in shows... I watch them to actually try to get my mind away from RL, so those impossible things or little errors don't bother me at all Sometimes I'll just laugh about it and say to whoever is watching with me "that doesn't happen" and that's it

Ah okay that's good cause I know some fans (who are also doctors) are very nitpicky and pinpoint every error they see which also takes away the fun of just watching the show for the drama. But also that's me when I see Asian representation in American TV shows. Some of it isn't accurate but I usually just brush it off because western media of course won't really know much about the culture here. One show that got it right is Fresh Off the Boat (ABC).

Ohhh I LOVE Fresh Off The Boat!!
And I'm definitely there with you regarding Asian representation. That actually annoys me more than the medical errors
Also, Brazil being shown as a country that speaks Spanish just annoys me, I could understand if there were regions that spoke Spanish here, but that's not the case, we only speak Portuguese.

LOL! Yes I agree! Most people think Brazilians speak Spanish. I only know you all speak Portuguese because of Senna and Alfie Enoch (who speaks fluent Portuguese).

Fresh Off the Boat still have some details wrong but compared to other shows with "Asian representation", they're better.

^ Oh yeah, Alfie Enoch was in a Brazilian movie recently

I think it's hard to make something really authentic, but still it's better to have almost everything right than almost everything wrong (as happens way too much)

Exactly. I think it's far better nowadays but still needs improvement. The stereotypes is what irks me though.

^ Same here It's eye rolling how stereotypes keep being something so common in the movie industry

Like why would there be stereotypes if these same people don't want to be stereotyped too. It doesn't make sense.

It feels me with great joy seeing some fans want to see this Jon Snow sequel fail miserably. Here we go again.
