Yes that. They could've found a way to bring him back permanently like in the comics.

Did Steve originally die in the comics? I just think they shouldn't of killed him in the first movie. I like them together, but I just don't think it's right to keep Diana anchored to a dead man that will most likely never come back permanently and that's preventing her from moving on with her life. I just feel if he keeps coming back, she's stuck and that's the only man she will ever be with. She needs to move on if he doesn't come back permanently IMO.

I'm not fully sure tbh, I thought he does, or she thinks he did. Either way later on he's kind of her side-kick and love.
