I'm sorry I was M.I.A. this week. My laptop is basically broke, and I've been trying to recover and figure out what's wrong with it, but it doesn't seem recoverable.

if it's a windows laptop, you can go into System Restore mode in Safe Mode (F8 OR F12) and use a restore point to reset your windows to an earlier date before the bad stuff, and you won't lose files and pictures and stuff like that, just the stuff you did in the period between restore points.

i know less than nothing about mac/apple junk, except it's overpriced and overrated.

^ Probably. I've had it for a long time, and it was probably gonna go at some point, but it was working fine at the time.

It is a Windows; I don't use Macs. Do I have to be on a certain screen to do that? My screen isn't really coming up long enough to do anything.

as soon as you power up, there should be a menu asking you for normal, safe mode, or command prompt...scroll to safe mode, it will lock out all the virus/adware/spam junk that is jamming up your windows, if that is the problem. in safe mode, it will give you the System Restore option as soon as it comes up.

if your problem is power or hardware related, or faulty internal connections, i really have no ideas in that department sadly, i just usually get a new device at that point. i've been able to fix some computers with XP and Windows 7 by using tips on youtube, but only the software and drivers parts, never the hardware or electrical. ugh.

I shut off my laptop for a few days plugged in, and it seems to be working? I tried putting my graphics program on a flash drive, but I haven't tested out if I did that correctly yet. I'm afraid it'll shut down on me again, so I'm bringing it to my boyfriend's who's in IT to look at it this weekend if we have time.

No, I'm still using the Microsoft Surface, which isn't bad to use. I'm just trying to figure out the graphics program situation.
