You're both welcome.

It’s World Mental Health Day!

Both Prince Harry and Ed Sheeran want to ensure that not just today but every day, you look after yourself, your friends and those around you.

There’s no need to suffer in silence - share how you’re feeling, ask how someone is doing and listen for the answer. Be willing to ask for help when you need it and know that we are all in this together. #WMHD

Today, on World Mental Health Day, The Duke of Sussex returned to St Ann’s, Nottingham, to reunite with members of two community youth initiatives he’s been supporting for many years - EPIC Partners mentoring at Nottingham Academy and Community Recording Studio (CRS). At Nottingham Academy, HRH spoke with several of the youth he’s met on previous visits who are now mentoring younger students to ensure they’re managing their mental health both at school and at home.

The Duke took part in the school assembly, where they talked about managing stress at every level and he shared his own thoughts on the importance of good mental health.

There was also a fun visit with a therapy dog who supports students who feel reluctant to read, and allows them to garner more self confidence.

The visit ended at the Community Recording Studio (CRS) in St Ann’s, a youth organisation that teaches video and music skills, allowing a creative outlet for self expression. The members recently created a Hip Hopera titled ‘Mental’ – a musical that explores mental illness through drama, spoken word and song.

Overall a very special day celebrating community and seeing how we can all play a part in supporting each other’s wellbeing and mental health. #WMHD

[Sound On] Today is International #DayoftheGirl, a day observed globally and created by the United Nations to acknowledge the gender inequality that exists worldwide. Be it lack of access to education, stigma surrounding MHM, forced child marriage, legal or medical inequality, or gender-based violence, there is a pressing need to support young women in their path to excellence.

It is also a day to celebrate and encourage girls to know their value and to support them in taking action to grow into the women they wish to be.

The Duchess of Sussex has been a long time advocate for women’s and girls rights and at the age of eleven campaigned against a sexist advertisement, which was then changed. No matter what age, or what background you have the power to make an impact.

HRH recently shared a quote during a speech in Cape Town: “Visualize your highest self, and show up as her.”

To all of the young girls reading this today on International Day of the Girl, that quote is for you.

This evening, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the annual #WellChildAwards in London.

WellChild aims to ensure every child and young person living with serious health needs has the best chance to thrive with the support and medical care needed in the comfort of their own home. The Duke of Sussex became Patron of WellChild in 2007, and last year both The Duke and Duchess attended the awards to honour the children and families that
WellChild supports.

The Duke, who first came to these awards over a decade ago, shared in his remarks tonight: “Last year when my wife and I attended we knew we were expecting our first child - no one else did at the time, but we did - and I remember squeezing Meghan’s hand so tightly during the awards, both of us thinking what it would be like to be parents one day, and more so, what it would be like to do everything we could to protect and help our child should they be born with immediate challenges or become unwell over time. And now, as parents, being here and speaking to all of you pulls at my heart strings in a way I could have never understood until I had a child of my own.”

This afternoon, The Duke of Sussex attended a mental health workshop at Lambeth Palace hosted by The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. This event focused on how the church and community organisations can encourage youth to have an open conversation about their mental health, and how their faith and community can play a key role in that.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a close personal relationship with The Archbishop of Canterbury, who officiated their wedding and also oversaw the baptism of their son.

The Duke was pleased to attend this special conference to lend his support to The Archbishop and highlight the important work being done to tackle mental health challenges, specifically for the younger generation.

We can all come together, regardless of background, race, or religious affiliation, to support each other as a community and ensure we are putting our mental wellness first.

I hear there's an interview this weekend where Megan also talks about how hard it is to adapt to all the changes.

I read about that too and I'm glad she's opening up about the struggles of being a new mom and being a royal which can be quite overwhelming.
